Introducing myself II
The first 27 years of my life, I was an American. You might say middle class in my youth, then more like lower middle as an adult. My father was a store manager. My mother stayed home and took care of the house and kids. She used to sing to musicals while she ironed. I think she was the one that talked my dad into taking the manager position of a Thrifty Drug store in Las Vegas where they lived for a short time and where I was born. As a baby, we moved back to San Bernardino, CA.
Well, I'm not going to go into too much detail. I hated school. Like Paul Simon says: if you think about all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all.
I married very young. We moved to Utah to my wife's family. We moved back to San Bernardino in 1976. There was no work to find in the south. My friend Grey said he'd heard that work is easy to find up north in San Jose. So, I ended up in Silicon Valley. It was easy to find work. I went to a bit of college where I found out about computers. It's amusing for me to think that the young people now can't even imagine a world without computers. That was back then when computers took up a whole room. PCs were just being developed. I lucked into one job after another and was doing good.
When my wife left me and took the kids to New York, I eventually thought, what the hell am I doing here, so I went traveling to Europe and Israel (Palestine), where I met my second wife.
I came with her back to her Bodensee (Lake of Constance) in Germany and got a job at Siemens. And here I am in Germany.
Now I'm no longer married but living a good and happy life with Conni!
Did I mention that I make music? I play guitar, bass and just enough keyboard to produce music with Ableton Live. I've been in a few bands in my life, but nothing very serious.
Right now I'm with two groups.
Did I mention that I'm an anarchist? Well, not a card carrying anarchist, but I do think that we as people can make the world a better place, and that what's holding us back, is our greedy leaders and their capitalist masters.
Is it bad practice to use the introducemyself tag twice? I'm still trying to find my way around here.
P.S. I can't seem to make comments on d.link videos. Can somebody help me?
