Above is a picture of the Red Roof Inn, in Port Aransas, TX used to look like before Hurricane Harvey hit some 6 months ago.

Port A as we call it down here used to be one of Texas's best kept secret hideaways. It's a sleepy little fishing village at the far North end of Mustang island next to the ship channel that carries commerce out to the Gulf of Mexico and the world. Since hurricane Harvey tho it's not quite got it's sparkle and shine it used to have but the city is well on it's way to recovery and urgently preparing for the influx of spring breakers sure to come.

Monday, myself and a couple of my Hispanic brethren started with this.

And in a few more weeks/months I'm sure the Red Roof will be running away from red and back in the black, being open for business and a pleasant nights rest from a ling day of baking in the South Texas sun.

I'd encourage anyone that ever gets down this way to come spend a few days in Port A and enjoys the many shops of sea things, the miles of soft powdery white sand, the exception fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, parachute jumping, dolphins, pelicans, and many other fun and easy to do things a quaint little gem of a beachy town has to offer. Who knows you might even find spozone@spozone participating in their annual Sandfest, sea sculpting sandcastle contest.

For now tho it's off to sleep with hopes they get the lumber delivery there on-time early in the morning because I'm out of nails and out of words for this posting.
