My first go at some Marion Blackberry syrup didn’t turn out too bad. Now I did find a recipe online but of course I had to tweak it a little bit. Now the next batch there is going to be even more tweaking. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to make Marion Blackberry syrup.

I found the recipe here and it was the first one I looked at. A Creamy Marion Berry Syrup sounded good to me.

The recipe only called for 1 cup of frozen Marion Blackberries but I put 2 cups in and added a handful of fresh picked ones too. I didn’t have any vanilla and I didn’t do the whole baking soda process at the end. I used a strainer with larger holes to get any bigger chunks out after I brought it to a boil and mixed it up really well with a wisk.

What better way to try this syrup than on a nice fluffy pancake.

Mama-Splatts and I said the same thing, “Less butter”. This recipe called for 1/2 cup of butter! @kuku-Splatts absolutely devoured her pancake! So I guess she liked it. Lol. Other than the over powering butter taste, it was awesome for a first try! Shoot I might even add some more blackberries to the mix next time. Once I get this recipe the way I want it, I am gonna pump out a bunch of this stuff.
