Hola a todos, esta además de ser mi primera publicación luego de mi presentación en hive, será mi primera publicación en esta comunidad, y desde ya estoy muy emocionada porque siempre he sido amante de las manualidades y estoy segura que podremos aprender muchos nuevos proyectos para intentar en casa.

Desde muy pequeña solía ver a mi mamá cosiendo, tejiendo a crochet y con dos agujas, en esa época me parecían muy difíciles todas esas actividades y me generaban un poco de estrés, por lo cual ni siquiera lo intentaba, a pesar de que mi mamá siempre me explicaba con muchísima paciencia. Lo que no sabía para aquel entonces es que todos esos conocimientos iban a quedar en mí y algunos años más tarde iba a despertar en mí esa curiosidad por tejer y coser que de pequeña no tenía.

Until one day in a haberdashery I discovered such a soft yarn that made me want to risk knitting something for babies and after days of searching I discovered the knitted blanket that I show you today, which besides being soft is so easy to make that it turned out to be my first two-needled knitting project. Yo demore unas tres semanas en realizar esta manta, pudo ser en menos tiempo, pero se me terminó el hilo y cada vez que iba a la mercería estaba cerrada.

Es importante que sepas que el tamaño de la manta puede variar dependiendo de tu forma de tejer, en mi caso suelo tejer un poco apretado y eso hace que los tejidos salgan más pequeños.
Lo primero que hice fue montar 148 puntos y comenzar a tejer en punto derecho durante 8 hileras o si así lo prefieres 16 vueltas. Una vez se obtienen las 8 hileras vamos a comenzar a realizar los cuadros, para esto deben notar que todo el borde de la manta está hecho en punto derecho, este borde en punto derecho evita que la manta se enrolle una vez vayamos realizando el punto jersey.
It is important that you know that the size of the blanket may vary depending on your way of knitting, in my case I usually knit a little tight and that makes the knits come out smaller.

Tejidas las 8 hileras como ya dijimos vamos a dar inicio a los primeros cuadros, tal como se ven en la foto que les dejo más abajo, para ello vamos a hacer una secuencia de 16 filas más, pero en este caso iniciaremos con los primeros 8 puntos de la vuelta 17 los vamos a tejer del derecho que harían el borde de la manta, luego avanzaremos por todo el proyecto tejiendo 12 puntos del revés y 12 puntos del derecho, así sucesivamente hasta que queden los 8 puntos del final que serán a punto derecho. Terminada esta fila, se da la vuelta al proyecto y como estamos en la parte revés de la manta para que nos pueda salir punto derecho debemos tejer 20 puntos derecho, luego continuaremos con la secuencia de 12 puntos revés y 12 puntos derechos.

Siempre que estemos en el lado derecho de la labor iniciamos tejiendo con 8 puntos del derecho, y cuando estemos en el lado revés debemos hacer los primeros 20 puntos del derecho. En esta parte parece complicado, pero la verdad es que es tan fácil que luego de terminada la primera fila de cuadros no necesitarás contar.
Whenever we are on the right side of the work we start knitting with 8 stitches on the right side, and when we are on the purl side we must knit the first 20 stitches on the right side. In this part it seems complicated, but the truth is that it is so easy that after finishing the first row of squares you won't need to count.
Terminadas las primeras 16 filas de la manta te puedes dar cuenta que ya tienes cuadros formados y seguro te estarás preguntando como harás para formar las siguientes filas de cuadros. Este paso es muy sencillo, pero debes estar muy atento al conteo de los puntos, ya que si contamos mal no se verá el efecto que queremos.
Once you have finished the first 16 rows of the blanket you may realize that you already have squares formed and you are probably wondering how you will form the following rows of squares. This step is very simple, but you must be very attentive to the counting of the stitches, because if you count wrong you will not see the effect you want.
Si la última vuelta que tejimos fue la secuencia de 20 puntos derechos al inicio, 12 puntos revés y 12 puntos derechos hasta terminar la hilera con 20 puntos derechos, la siguiente vuelta repetiremos lo mismo, esto hará que invirtamos el orden del esquema.

La cantidad de cuadros que realices siempre va a depender de tu gusto, en mi caso hice aproximadamente 14 o 16 cuadrados, por lo que repetí las secuencias del esquema unas 8 veces.

Una vez que obtienes el largo que deseas, en mi caso fueron 70 centímetros, tejes las ultimas 8 hileras o 16 vueltas en punto derecho. La primera vuelta vas a sentir que se continúa formando el diseño de cuadros de la manta, pero tranquilo que en la siguiente vuelta ya estará el punto derecho formado.
Once you get the length you want, in my case it was 70 centimeters, you knit the last 8 rows or 16 rows in stockinette stitch. The first row you will feel that the checkered design of the blanket continues to form, but don't worry, the next row will have the right stitch already formed.
Una vez que termines de tejer el borde de la manta, cierras los puntos y toca la hora de esconder las uniones de hilos que nos haya tocado hacer. Terminado esto, te recomiendo que laves la manta antes de usarla, notarás que por la manipulación del tejido se ensucian un poco los proyectos.
Once you have finished knitting the edge of the blanket, close the stitches and it's time to hide the yarn joints. Once you have finished this, I recommend that you wash the blanket before using it, you will notice that the projects get a little dirty due to the handling of the fabric.
