¡Hola a todos! Tenía muchísimas ganas de escribir este post y por fin me decidí a hacerlo. Me llamo Katharine, tengo 22 años y soy cubana, aunque casi todo el mundo me dice Katha. De profesión soy graduada de Ciencias Farmacéuticas por la Universidad de La Habana, un giro un poco inesperado si ven que estoy publicando en una comunidad de tejido, pero la verdad es que mi vida se divide entre la ciencia y las agujas.
Mi amor por el tejido empezó de pura casualidad en la cuarentena. Quería un bolso, no tenía materiales y me lancé a la aventura sin saber absolutamente nada (Pd: tardé seis meses en terminarlo). Lo que empezó como un pasatiempo se convirtió en mi gran motivación. Tejer para mí es la manera que tengo de conectar conmigo misma; me encanta la sensación de ver cómo un hilo suuelto, con paciencia y precisión, se va transformando en una prenda real que puedo usar o regalar. Es esa mezcla de concentración y creatividad lo que me atrapa por completo.
¿Qué van a encontrar en mi perfil de ahora en adelante? De todo un poco: mis procesos tejiendo, mis recomendaciones acerca de tutoriales, mis patrones y, por supuesto, mis victorias y frustraciones con el crochet y las dos agujas. No me quiero extender demasiado hoy para no saturar el post en mi primer día, porque esto es solo el comienzo de todo lo que quiero compartir con ustedes. ¡Me encantaría leer sus comentarios y consejos para arrancar con buen pie en la comunidad! ¡Nos leemos pronto!
Hi everyone! I’ve been really looking forward to writing this post, and I finally decided to go for it. My name is Katharine, I’m 22 years old, and I’m Cuban, though almost everyone calls me Katha. I graduated with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Havana, which might seem like a bit of an unexpected twist since I’m posting in a needlework community, but the truth is my life is split between science and needles.
My love for knitting and crochet started completely by chance during the quarantine. I wanted a bag, didn't have the materials, and just dove into the adventure without knowing absolutely anything (P.S. It took me six months to finish!). What started as a hobby became my biggest motivation. For me, knitting is my way of connecting with myself; I love the feeling of watching a loose thread, with patience and precision, transform into a real garment I can wear or give away. It’s that mix of focus and creativity that completely hooks me.

I don't want to make this too long today so I don't overload the post on my first day, because this is just the beginning of everything I want to share with you.
