[ESP-ING] Una emprendedora comenzando de nuevo - An entrepreneur starting over
Entrepreneurship is a word that has been trending for several years now.
With them many others such as resilience, perseverance and focus.
I can say that I have been an entrepreneur since I was a child, I sold candy at my uncles' houses, I learned to sell with my mom in her office and I made ice cream with her to sell at home. When I was a teenager I told my mom that I wanted to sell Avon and Ebel and I also sold products through catalogs.
Luego vendí ropa, y hasta zapatos. Siempre he soñado con tener mi propio negocio.
Then I sold clothes, and even shoes. I have always dreamed of having my own business.
Several years ago I started in the world of handicrafts, I formed a line of accessories in Venezuela called Taru Accessories, which left me many joys and taught me a lot about the world of entrepreneurship, costs, competition and above all to work late into the night.
In Venezuela I had several very good moments, I got to distribute my pieces in stores and sold wholesale, that time was very productive and good, although I had a lot of work I was happy. I was able to employ a cousin and my mother to help me when I had big orders and that made me feel happy to be able to help them too.
It has been almost a year since I emigrated to Bogota, Colombia, and once again I decided to start my business, Taru Accesorios has now moved.
It is difficult to start again in another country, one is filled with fears and doubts, going out to sell and offer your product is complicated when some people see you badly, or think you are going to beg.
Other people look at you with rejection when they hear your accent and that makes it even more complicated to approach you.
Part of my learning process of so much time has led me to understand that you always have to continue, that giving up is forbidden, as they say. You have to see the glass half full, not half empty.
I have already sold some pieces on my Instagram and I have received many compliments from people who have purchased my earrings, or any accessory, those are the comments that make me continue believing in my work, which is made with love and honesty.
We all have opportunities to grow, it is clear that packing up your dreams and making them come true in another country does not sound easy, but it is not impossible.
I am writing this text after returning from visiting several stores and not getting any sales, but with the certainty that I will make it, that we can all achieve goals when we have a good attitude and believe in our work.
Believe in yourself, don't get discouraged, always come with a smile to talk about how proud you are to be an entrepreneur, and fight, fight until you make it.
If you have a friend who is an entrepreneur, support their work, share it with others and always believe in their work... you will help them on their way to success.
