Hello my dear community of foodies, today I come with something new for me, since the weekend I have cravings for Chinese food specifically to eat Lumpias, I searched a lot on the internet to finalize details since it is the first time I would make them, on other occasions I have prepared Chop Suey, but never Lumpias, so I will show you how I learned to prepare them, but first I will tell you what the ingredients are:

Para la masa
  • 100 gramos de harina
  • 50 gramos de Maicena
  • Sal
  • 1 huevo
  • La misma cantidad de harina en agua
Para el relleno:
  • Zanahoria
  • Repollo
  • Pimentón
  • Cebolla
  • Cubito
  • Sal
  • Salsa de soja
  • Aceite
For the dough
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 50 grams of cornstarch
  • Salt
  • 1 egg
  • The same amount of flour in water
For the filling:
  • Carrot
  • Cabbage
  • Paprika
  • Onion
  • Diced
  • Salt
  • Soy sauce
  • Oil

The first step is to cut in julienne the carrot, onion, bell pepper and cabbage, then we are going to fry the meat, when it is ready we cut it in strips.

We are going to place all the cut vegetables in a frying pan with a little oil and a garlic cut in small squares, we are going to add onion, paprika, carrot and cabbage, to fry the vegetables, we also add the ham and the meat.

For the dough, we are going to blend 100 ml of water with 100 grams of flour, 50 grams of cornstarch, 1 egg and a pinch of salt.

We are going to place in a very hot frying pan the very thin mixture and we are going to wait for it to cook a little and then remove it and place it on a plate and then we add the vegetables, wrap it and stick the edges with the same mixture and take it to the oil pan with the oil quite hot and it is going to fry from side to side and it will be toasted.

I loved them, they were with good color and flavor, my husband was fascinated although they are a lot of work and take a lot of time, so if you do it with someone else it will be much faster, I know I can prepare many delicious things, as I always say you have to put a lot of effort and love to each recipe.

In Asian countries they prepare them with rice paper which is an extremely thin dough, they even sell them ready to prepare them at home, but in other countries we have learned to make them our way and one of these is to use cornstarch and also wheat flour, the truth is the taste is delicious especially when it is a little toasted, it is like an Asian empanada and instead of using guasacaca, they use soy sauce, they are very healthy because it is flour stuffed with vegetables with ham and meat.
