The once waking world is now in slumber.
Here I lay wide awake in wonder.
How many nights have I laid awake?
Some with no benefit that I'd make.
Distant days ring through the universe.
They roll up slowly and coy, in reverse.
The nostalgia most often runs deep,
In the late hours when I can not sleep.
How much is habit and how much is nature?
Is sleep something I'm not meant to capture?
For years of life, I've hid from its' grasp.
Adding to my voice in the form of a rasp.
These days, I confess, I sleep more freely.
And it fuels my dreams, most surreally.
Much love and stay well, awesome humans!
