In Splinterlands there is a wide variety of cards and incredible combinations to try and today I'm going to talk about one in the water deck that usually has a high win rate in battles with low mana cost. To make this combination you will only need 2 cards that don't cost much to rent and you can use them in practically all leagues because they are still very effective.
The cards I'm talking about are the Sea Monster (Common Card from the Reward edition) and the Crustacean King (Common Card from the Alpha/Beta editions). With just these two cards you will have an amazing combination for your battles, but as I mentioned before they are best used when the available mana is not very high (between 14 and 18 mana), it is also a good choice in battles with high mana because you will have a great defense in the first position.
In battle, the Sea Monster card will be your main defense in the first position and also a great source of damage because its attack is very high, but for this combination its main highlight is its Heal ability that will be even more useful when the Crustacean King enters in action because he has the Tank Heal ability.
In case you don't know these abilities I'll leave a brief description about them below.
Sea Monster's Heal ability causes it to restore 1/3 of its maximum health per round. The minimum healing value is 2 and the amount based on max health is always rounded to the lowest multiple of 3. Example: if a card has 9 health then the healing will be 3, if the card has 11 health the healing will also be 3, it will only receive 4 healing if the health is 12~14.
The Crustacean King's Tank Heal ability works in the same way as the Sea Monster's Heal ability, but with the Tank Heal, the person who will receive the healing is your card positioned in the first position, which in this combination would be the Sea Monster. So just think how a card with 2 heals per round is extremely powerful, especially in battles that don't have much mana available, where the amount of damage received per round is not very high.
Remembering again that to use this combination the minimum amount of mana available must be 14. In addition these cards also have other abilities that are acquired depending on the level you use them. In the case of Sea Monster he has the Thorns ability from level 6 which is very useful against melee cards as they will receive 2 damage when they attack him. The Crustacean King has the Protect ability from level 6 which is also a great ability to have in battles as it will grant +2 shield to all your cards, which will be a great defense against melee and ranged attacks.
Another thing to mention is that I would recommend getting both cards at least at level 3 because they will be more effective in battle as the Crustacean King will have 1 attack and the Sea Monster will have 9 health which will make him heal by 3 for each enable healing you have in battle.
Now if we talk about values, the Sea Monster at level 3 would cost $6.97 and the Crustacean King (Beta Edition) would cost $16.60. These would be the values if you chose to buy them, if the choice was to rent the price would be much cheaper, the Sea Monster would only cost 0.25 DEC (per day) and the Crustacean King only 1.44 DEC (per day).
The choice to buy or rent would be yours. I used their example at level 3 because they become more effective from this level, but at higher levels they are much more powerful and useful especially in high leagues.
You can also use the tool on Peakmonster that shows the daily, weekly and monthly sales chart of the card you choose, so from there you can better analyze what would be the ideal price to buy them if that were your choice.
You can use this amazing tool to analyze a good buy moment for both charts, there is also a daily and monthly chart, but as they are old charts the weekly and monthly chart would be more useful for the analysis.
There are rumors of Sea Monsters that can swallow a ship whole. The truth is, there are Sea Monsters big enough to swallow the Sea Monster that swallowed the ship whole. Most land lubbers cannot conceive how deep within the planet or how far beyond the horizon the oceans go.
The intelligent Crustaceans of ΛZMΛRÉ are the result of ancient genetic experiments. They became too smart to be contained, escaped from their bondage and developed their own city on the edge of the Dark Water. Led by the Crustacean King, they farm the vast kelp fields of ΛZMΛRÉ.
