Spots of Colour on a Grey Day
Walking the dog yesterday and I noticed how these little townhomes pop against the greys and browns of winter. Combined with the mossy island it was a nice site to see after a very blah morning.

Grey Day
Today is one of those grey days that you never really remember two days later. I spent part of it getting screamed at by one of my private clients, and later climbing with @mstafford. I snapped this picture

Pegboard Progress 2018: One Peg at a Time

Hours and hours of free entertainment
Brought to you by Mr. Tennis Ball! I use this ball all through my work day to keep my hands busy. I find it's really effective in giving kids mean looks as I toss it from hand to hand. It also works well

Flinging on the rings
This is the other piece of equipment I use at work. I always try to do the stuff I see on the Olympic events, but it's super hard. A kid that I work with does some crazy stuff on them and it gives me a

Succulents! Why are they so fascinating?
This was the first succulent I ever bought. I got it out of someone's garage on Father's day. It was five bucks and came with a clay pot and some chocolate Easter eggs. That was five years ago now. I think

Peg Board Progress 2018
At my workplace there's a workout area. Usually I'm too busy when I'm actually in that area, but once in a while I give it a shot. I started doing it in November, and this is how far I can get on one try

Hiking through the old growth forest
Despite the quality, this is one of my favorite photos from my last trip to the Sunshine Coast trail. We got caught in the old growth during a big downpour. Being the middle of July we had minimal rain

Future Trips
Now that we're started on a new year, it's time to start the planning process for some new multi day trips for the year. Ideally I'd like to hit three different trails, and do a spattering of fun camping

☕🐕🏞️
Yesterday's post motivated me to actually do a hike today. It was raining and gross out but that's usually when it's the quietest. By the time I rolled up to the mountain it was very foggy out, so I was

Motivation and Rewards
During the non winter months I like to hike as much as possible. When I was young I think my grandfather instilled a value of solitude with nature within me. I have a lot of good memories walking through

Fried Plantains!
A couple days ago I tried frying plantains for the first time. It went fairly well but it wasn't as crunchy as I thought it would be. Made for a neat picture though.

Back to the City

What's a word for the longing of springtime?
During winter, one of the things I miss most are the blossoms that surround my city from March until October. The city just isn't the same without them. One flower that is the sure sign spring is here

Days of Fog and Sun
These are some photos I took last year on the coast. January is typically a weird month weather wise, since some warm breezes can kick up moisture from the ocean to form some really thick fog patches that
