During this very moment I am at Work the Sequel daydreaming about the summer, the adventures to come, and the adventures I went on last summer. I keep thinking about the Sunshine Coast trail (SCT) in particular, since the whole thing really seemed like a dream. This is partly due to the whole dehydration and not getting enough calories thing. Apart from that it was amazing, and the photos we took kind of cemented the dream like feel of it because we made the decision to shoot it all in film. We each took one disposable and did our best to conserve our sixtyish exposures over the 4 day trip. Mine turned out mostly good. I never got a chance to see what my cousin took because he still hasn't gotten them developed, the bastard. I don't think I'm going to give him film next time. Anyways, here's some of my favorite moments from the trip:
On top of Tinhat Mountain at 4000ft. We were very happy to make it by sunset, and that we made it without Jordi going in to a diabetic coma. Dude messed up his insulin dosage.
This was what heading up Tinhat looked like. It was a ferns and cedar as far as they could see.
There were a couple of resting places along the way. We stopped here to refill our water supplies and snack on some wild blueberries. Everything in this place was alive in some form or another. Even the bridge was growing.
Here is the creek we rested at. If you look closely you'll see Jordi skinny dipping (after we got our water, thankfully)
I wish I could share more with you all, but I think I've reached the upload limit for the post. If you ever get a chance to do a trip like this, try your best to make it happen, because you'll never forget it.
