We had our neighbors visit us and it was a very nice older couple from Miami. They both used to work as teachers in Miami and when they retired they bought a house on Whidbey Island and live here about four months between May and September.
The weather on Whidbey Island is much nicer than in Miami during summer. Florida is just too hot during summer. Their primary goal was to get to know their neighbors and the secondary goal was to talk about the water well.
Our responsibility for the water well is actually not very much, we are just responsible for annual water testing. After the meeting at our house my wife had a business meeting and I took that hour to fix our motorized window shade.
I took off both guiding rails and reinserted both sides into zipper drives. Then re-attached the guiding rails and with the help of our daughter adjusted upper and lower limits of the shade movement.
I still have to put back the metal cover, but I am going to wait for my brother in law as it is a bit challenging to snap it back in place because it is too long for me to be able to snap in both sides at the same time and if I snap in one side then it detaches when I snap the other side. Two people can get it done pretty easily.
Then we went to one of our favorite beaches on the island: Double Bluff beach. You can see the images above and below from this beach. The tide was low and we walked around collecting a lot of sea shells, rocks and sea glass.
On the way back home from the beach we stopped by a Pho place and ladies had a couple bowls and I had something like a chicken burger.
Then we went to Ace Hardware and I picked up five forty pound bags of water softener pellets for our water softener. Then we went to a local grocery store called The Goose.
When we got home about four hours later we were pretty tired. So we had tea and spent the rest of the evening relaxing.
