In my previous post, I wrote about how important it is to remember your dreams and keep a dream journal. Today it's time for the next step in my lucid dreaming journey.

This time, it's about something that seems very simple at first – paying more attention to your own dreams.

Don't focus only on lucid dreaming – it will come with time

I think many people who start their adventure with lucid dreaming make the same mistake. We want to achieve a lucid dream as quickly as possible, and that's what we focus all our attention on.

Lucid dreaming becomes our main goal, while we start treating normal dreams as something unimportant. But it turns out that they are actually the most important part.

Normal dreams are the foundation, the main pillar of this whole journey. Instead of constantly thinking about when I will finally become aware during a dream, I should first start paying more attention to what I dream about every night.

Go back to your dreams during the day

The dream journal I wrote about in my previous post is already one way of doing this.

But it's not just about writing down your dream in the morning, closing the journal and forgetting about it.

During the day, you can take a moment and go back to it.

Try to remember the place, the people, the emotions or some strange event. Try to experience the dream once again in your mind.

You can also ask yourself: why did I dream about this particular thing?

Maybe I saw that place the day before? Maybe I was thinking about something a lot? Maybe I was afraid of something or waiting for something to happen?

Dreams often mix events from our lives, memories, emotions and completely random things. And observing all of this starts to become really interesting.

The more time we spend thinking about our dreams, the easier it should become with each passing day to remember more and more details from them.

For me, it's amazing that simply paying a little more attention to your dreams can make you remember them better.

HOW SIMPLE IS THAT?!

So what's the point of all this?

The main idea is to stop treating dreams as something we remember for five minutes after waking up and then completely forget about.

The more attention we give them, the more our brain starts treating them as something important.

Thanks to this, we should remember our dreams better, notice more details and increase our awareness while we are dreaming.

And all of this should slowly bring us closer to the main goal – a lucid dream.

You don't have to spend hours analyzing every single dream. Sometimes just a few minutes during the day is enough to remember your last dream and experience it once again in your imagination.

And that's exactly the task I'm giving myself after this lesson.

Not only to write down my dreams, but also to start taking a real interest in them.

Let's see what results it brings. :)

I'm already seeing the first results!

Personally, I've already noticed really good progress in what I'm doing. The things I'm writing about are actually starting to work.

I remember more and more dreams, and I can remember longer parts of them. A few times, I even managed to realize for a short moment during a dream that I was actually dreaming!

I'm still far from becoming fully aware and being able to control my dreams, but the most important thing is that I can already see progress.

There is also another benefit of this challenge that I didn't even think about when I started.

I'm sleeping better!

I've started going to bed much earlier than I used to because sleep has become something more interesting and valuable to me than before.

I think this alone is already a big benefit of the whole experiment. It will definitely be good for my health because proper sleep and recovery are really important!

Let's see what happens next. :)
