On this occasion I am restoring an old doll that walked and cried for a niece, I already had the work started when I thought of sharing it and I had to separate the post so as not to make it too long and because the cosmetic part deserved a post according to me seem.

En esta ocasión estoy restaurando para una sobrina una muñeca antigua de las que caminaba y lloraba, ya tenía el trabajo iniciado cuando pensé en compartirlo y he tenido que separar el post para no hacerlo muy largo y porque la parte cosmética se merecía un post según mi parecer.

It is very easy to disassemble, remove the screws from the back and the mechanism for the movement of the feet is immediately exposed to view, it is very simple and ingenious. It consists of a cam that fits into a cavity in the thorax of the doll, the cam is moved by the electric motor and a spring to support the movement of the legs at the back. The motor was seized and the drive belt material had degraded.

Es muy fácil para desmontar, retiran los tornillos de la espalda y quedan expuestos a la vista de inmediato el mecanismo para el movimiento de los pies, es muy sencillo e ingenioso. Consiste en una leva que encaja en una cavidad del tórax de la muñeca, la leva es movida por el motor eléctrico y para apoyar el movimiento de las piernas en la parte posterior un resorte. El motor estaba trabado y el material de la correa de impulso se había degradado.

Fortunately I was able to repair the motor, it is the same procedure for the CD and DVD motors (a little bit of WV40 let it work for a couple of hours or put it in a container of alcohol and make it work in both directions), mount a belt to cam drive and tested the feet mechanism. I then followed up with the pacifier mechanism in the doll's mouth, a simple switch that presented no problems. All we had left was the music box. (doll crying)

Por fortuna pude reparar el motor, es el mismo procedimiento para los motores de los CD y DVD (un poco de WV40 dejarlo actuar un par de horas o se coloca en un envase en alcohol y hacerlo funcionar en ambos sentidos), monte una correa para el impulso de la leva y probé el mecanismo de los pies. Luego seguí con el mecanismo del chupete en la boca de la muñeca, un interruptor simple que no presentaba problemas. Solo nos quedaba la caja de música. (el llanto de la muñeca)

When disassembling to check the engine we can see the speaker (or the horn). This motor took a lot more work but we managed to get it back, the disc drive belt hadn't broken or degraded but it was very stretched. (poor Erika cried a lot)

Al desmontar para revisar el motor podemos ver el parlante (o la corneta). Este motor llevó mucho más trabajo, pero logramos recuperarlo, la correa de impulso del disco no se había roto ni degradado, pero estaba muy estirada. (que lloro mucho la pobre Erika)

Once the engine is ready, we disassemble the music disc and change the belt, I already said it before, forgive me for repeating myself, but the simplicity of the mechanism seems very elegant to me, the disc needle on that plastic arm caught my attention.

Listo el motor desmontamos el disco de música y cambiamos la correa, ya lo dije antes perdonen por repetirme, pero la sencillez del mecanismo me parece muy elegante, la aguja del disco en ese brazo plástico me llamo mucho la atención.

I made an insurance for the cover of the mechanism and I was assembling.

Hice un seguro para la cubierta del mecanismo y fui montando.
