Greetings, wishing you are having the best time possible, with great encouragement to face the puzzles and challenges that life brought to each of us this week.
We cannot lower the difficulty to life in the real world, or restart the game, is true. But despite everything we can get ahead. And enjoy the games.
Greak: Memories of Azur, is a side-scrolling indie adventure game, it was the first game that was created by the Mexican studio Navegante Entertainment, with the production of the Team 17 group. This game reached the world of video games in the second week August 2021.
They present us in the introduction of the game with some very beautiful cartoons, a mystical world in which dark forces devastate entire Courin populations.
For years the Courines have defended the valley and kept the land prosperous.
The Urlags have gathered and, using a mysterious force.
They have destroyed the Courint legacy and devastated everything they had built.
Our character is one of the surviving Courines, who at the beginning of the adventure is explained to us that he is one of three brothers separated by some circumstance, who seeks to reunite with the rest.
The graphic section is simply beautiful, the drawing and design of the scenarios is something that I really enjoy and I have spent a lot of time taking screenshots as the game's story unfolded.
If there's one thing I appreciate about a game, aside from a good story, it's how it looks.
There have already been other games in which two characters are controlled, in this case we will end up controlling the three brothers, each one with different abilities, which will allow us to solve the puzzles that will be presented to us during the development of the game.
It's a metroidvania type game, quite short in duration, it's true, in about five or ten hours you should have completed it. And it doesn't have many secrets. It is much appreciated that you have a map, although it is not very precise, which is a shame. So finding our mission objectives can be a bit tricky.
I have come to find myself wandering around without knowing how to find the mission point that I need to complete.
At first we will only control Greak, the smallest of the brothers, he has a sword attack and a crossbow for ranged attacks.
The game shows us at the beginning with the use of ghost images, a small movement tutorial.
We follow the tracks with the marks that are leaving us along the way.
In a short time we managed to find our sister Adara.
And they introduce us to how to switch between characters and how to handle them simultaneously and separate them to solve the puzzles.
Happiness did not last long, shortly after advancing through the game world, we are attacked and we lose our sister again, being rescued by Courines explorers, who take us to their refuge
There we wake up and we are informed of the situation.
The animation with which the items are presented to us is very funny, almost as if they bequeathed us a legendary object.
In the town we can find npc that will give us missions and sell us resources. It will be our base of operations.
At the beginning the save points are quite scarce, there is no manual save.
And in certain locations we can find fast travel monoliths, which is something that really relieves a lot, it's hard to go back all the way every so often.
The monoliths are only indicated on the map when we are in front of them.
We have no skill tree, no upgrade items either, which would have been a nice addition.
We can acquire combat techniques by completing missions, which will make it easier for us to kill enemy monsters, but the damage and range of the character are not very decent for my taste.
One of my complaints about the game is the fragility of the character, it's like fighting a soldier made of sugar paper in the rain.
We only have four golden segments that indicate the amount of life, and it does not have any resistance or armor against damage. Healing items are scarce due to the game's setting, they enhance their capacity if we cook them on a stove, but they heal over time, they do not heal life immediately. And you don't have a hotkey to heal, you have to open the menu and use the heal item.
This is one of the problems, because when I open the menu, time does not stop and all the enemies keep attacking, I have seen myself die when I try to use a potion or food to recover health.
If one of the brothers or the character you are using dies, you have to restart from the last save point.
Inventory is another point that plays against you, you only have four slots, if you collect enough gems you can buy an additional slot, but it's still not enough.
The economy of the game is not the best or the friendliest. I needed to buy ammunition for the crossbow and each bolt alone was worth four crystals, since in two hours of play going through everything and exploring, I could only gather 60 crystals. Healing items were worth 30 to 45 crystals each and only recover two to three health points.
Downed enemies don't usually drop items very often, they sometimes give you a heal point, but that's not often. So I had to go walking and dying over and over again with no healing and almost no ammunition.
It is what I usually call "artificial difficulty", it consists of: you don't give me ammunition and you don't give me almost any healing items, nor credits or crystals to buy. And the character is extremely fragile.
Some fights are very unfair, the arrows of the enemies are remote controlled, and when two or three attack you at the same time, it is often frustrating.
Dead for the umpteenth time. From dying so much, you end up becoming fond of the sugar paper warrior.
At times the jump points did not work well and a jump that had already been done several times could not be done.
The game is beautiful, the story, although simple, I find it attractive. But it needs several improvements to be able to enjoy it better.
It would be great if the creators made some adjustments to it: being able to increase health segments, improve stamina, it is too fragile for combat. The melee, give it a little more range, consistency in jump points, I had to close the game and start it again to get it to work right.
For some reason I didn't recognize the Genius game controller that I always use. So I have to play with the keyboard and in these games that is a bit uncomfortable. If they only accept one controller manufacturer, it's better to be honest at the beginning, but they should allow you to use any brand.
The game itself can, despite all the cons: be quite entertaining and with the necessary exceptions, you will manage to spend a pleasant afternoon. But if the creators make the necessary improvements, it could be much more enjoyable.
Of course we have to remember that this was his first game.
Thank you very much for stopping by and reading.
Have an excellent week.
Peace.

Paz.
