Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un post muy especial, editado con material gráfico de mi propiedad, que documenta una visita significativa al emblemático Calvario de Villa de Cura, ubicado en el municipio Zamora del estado Aragua. Este lugar, cargado de historia y espiritualidad, ha sido por generaciones un punto de encuentro para la fe, la reflexión y el arte devocional.
En el video podrán apreciar parte del recorrido que realize dónde se destacan las ruinas del antiguo Calvario, rodeadas por una vegetación que enmarca el paisaje con una belleza serena. Desde allí se inicia el camino hacia la gruta de la Virgen de Lourdes, ubicada a un costado de la iglesia San Luis Rey, lugar donde cada año cientos de peregrinos se reúnen para rendir homenaje y renovar su esperanza.
Este mirador, ubicado en lo alto de una colina, es mucho más que una escalera de concreto y una cruz en la cima. Es un espacio de encuentro, reflexión y conexión con nuestras raíces. Desde allí se puede ver gran parte del pueblo, respirar aire fresco y sentir la paz que solo la altura y el silencio pueden regalar. Muchos lo visitan en Semana Santa, otros simplemente suben para despejar la mente o tomar una buena foto. Sea cual sea el motivo, El Calvario siempre recibe con los brazos abiertos
La estructura cuenta con barandas pintadas de azul y blanco, y una escalinata que invita al esfuerzo físico y espiritual. Al llegar arriba, uno se encuentra con una pequeña capilla y una cruz que representa el sacrificio y la fe de nuestro pueblo. Es común ver familias, jóvenes y adultos mayores compartiendo este espacio, que forma parte de nuestra identidad local.
Invito a quienes no conocen Villa de Cura a visitar El Calvario, y a quienes ya lo han hecho, a compartir sus recuerdos. Cada paso en esa escalera es una historia, y cada mirada desde el mirador es una inspiración.

Today I want to share with you a very special post, edited with graphic material of my own, documenting a meaningful visit to the emblematic Calvario of Villa de Cura, located in the Zamora municipality of Aragua state. This place, rich in history and spirituality, has for generations been a meeting point for faith, reflection, and devotional art.
In the video, you’ll see part of the journey I took, highlighting the ruins of the old Calvario, surrounded by lush vegetation that frames the landscape with serene beauty. From there, the path leads to the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, located beside the San Luis Rey church—a site where hundreds of pilgrims gather each year to pay homage and renew their hope.
This viewpoint, perched atop a hill, is much more than a concrete staircase and a cross at the summit. It is a space for connection, reflection, and rediscovery of our roots. From there, you can see much of the town, breathe fresh air, and feel the peace that only height and silence can offer. Many visit during Holy Week, while others climb simply to clear their minds or take a beautiful photo. Whatever the reason, El Calvario always welcomes with open arms.
The structure features railings painted in blue and white, and a staircase that invites both physical and spiritual effort. At the top, you’ll find a small chapel and a cross that symbolizes the sacrifice and faith of our people. It’s common to see families, youth, and elders sharing this space, which is part of our local identity.
I invite those who have never visited Villa de Cura to come and experience El Calvario, and those who have, to share their memories. Every step on that staircase tells a story, and every glance from the viewpoint is a source of inspiration.
