Welcome to the next installment of my series on the subject of the Prague Metro. In today's stop, we will look at the Luka station located on line B in the area of the Stodůlky housing estate.
Vítám Vás u dalšího pokračování mojí série na téma Pražského Metra. V dnešní zastávce se podíváme do stanice Luka ležící na lince B v oblasti sídliště Stodůlky.
The Luka station is a surface station covered with a metal roof with skylights. The station was opened on 11 November 1994 as part of the last westward extension of the B line.
Stanice Luka je povrchovou stanicí zastřešenou plechovou střechou se stropními světlíky. Stanice byla otevřena 11. listopadu 1994, jako součást posledního prodloužení linky B západním směrem.
Jaroslav Kácovský is responsible for the project and Zuzana Lacinová was the architect. The exit from the station is via only one staircase leading east. And through the bridges it is possible to enter the shopping centers on both sides of the station.
Za projekt je zodpovědný Jaroslav Kácovský a architektem byla Zuzana Lacinová. Výstup ze stanice je pouze po jednom schodišti vedoucí východním směrem. A skrze mostky je možné vejít do obchodních center na obou stranách stanice.
From my point of view, this is one of the least architecturally successful stations of the entire Metro complex. It reminds me of the same industrial hall both from the outside and from the inside. The design is not helped by the surrounding area of the station, where a lot of metal has been used.
Z mého pohledu se jedná o jednu z nejméně architektonicky povedených stanic celého komplexu Metra. Připomíná mi totiž industriální halu jak zvenku tak zevnitř. Designu nepomáhá ani okolí stanice, kde bylo použito spousta kovu.
The area around the station is again a combination of original socialist construction combined with new construction. But in this case the place looks quite unkempt in some locations. And obviously there is a problem with pigeons. Because the entire station is covered from the outside with nets and barbs against these birds.
Okolí stanice je opět kombinací původní socialistické výstavby v kombinaci s výstavbou novou. Ale v tomto případě místo vypadá v některých lokacích dosti neudržovaně. A evidentně je zde problém s holuby. Protože je celá stanice z venčí potažena sítěmi a ostny proti těmto ptákům.
