Cristian Javá Ríos, an indigenous Urarina, was killed in an ambush in which five other members of his community were also injured

The deceased, who leaves behind a widow and a six-month-old son, was an environmental monitor, carrying out environmental defence work in a region where the threat of oil companies and the oil spill are present
