Hive's top model reto: Makeup (GLAM)

Cuando pienso en una Noche de Gala, pienso en la fuerza del brillo y del color. A pesar de que estoy acostumbrada a maquillajes más sencillos, sentía que esta ocasión ameritaba colores intensos y profundos que resaltaran mi mirada y expresión. Así pues, el proceso creativo inició con la elección del vestido, estilismo y accesorios, lo que me inspiró a crear un maquillaje acorde a un evento de Gala, llamativo y lleno de Glamour🖤

When I think of a Gala Night, I think of the power of shine and color. Even though I'm used to simpler makeup looks, I felt that this occasion called for intense and deep colors that would highlight my look and expression. So, the creative process began with the choice of the dress, styling and accessories, which inspired me to create a makeup according to a Gala event, striking and full of Glamour🖤.

Escogí este vestido porque es una prenda elegante, perfecto para una velada nocturna, pero al mismo tiempo es sexy y chic. Las mangas estilo gigot o "pierna de cordero" nos recuerdan a la época victoriana, vestigios de la realeza. El volumen del vestido en la parte superior logra un efecto visual que hace que la parte inferior luzca más pequeña o delgada, lo que nos favorece a las chicas curvilíneas como yo. Cuando uso este vestido me siento un poco más extrovertida de lo que soy, ¡Y ese es el poder de la moda!, jajaja. El collar, y en general, los accesorios de perlas, elevan el outfit, lo hacen memorable.

I chose this dress because it is an elegant garment, perfect for an evening soiree, but at the same time it is sexy and chic. The gigot or "Leg-of-Mutton" style sleeves remind us of the Victorian era, vestiges of royalty. The volume of the dress at the top achieves a visual effect that makes the bottom look smaller or slimmer, which is flattering for curvy girls like me. When I wear this dress I feel a little more extroverted than I am, and that's the power of fashion, hahaha. The necklace, and in general, the pearl accessories, elevate the outfit, make it memorable.

El maquillaje de ojos combina las mismas tonalidades del vestido, junto al negro, para intensificar la mirada. El brillo no podía faltar, así que lo apliqué en el párpado móvil, y debajo de las pestañas inferiores, además incluí destellos con piedras de fantasía. Me atreví a aplicarme pestañas y me encantó el resultado. Con el cabello recogido en una cola alta despejé mi rostro, para que el maquillaje luciera protagónico.

The eye makeup combines the same shades of the dress, along with black, to intensify the look. The glitter could not be missing, so I applied it on the mobile eyelid, and under the lower lashes, I also included sparkles with rhinestones. I dared to apply eyelashes and I loved the result. With my hair in a high ponytail I cleared my face, so that the make-up would look the protagonist.

Esta sesión fotográfica está inspirada en esas horas previas a un evento importante, cuando dedicamos toda la tarde a maquillarnos y arreglarnos con la compañía musical de nuestra cantante pop favorita. Estamos en la comodidad de nuestra habitación jugando con el maquillaje, divirtiéndonos y sintiéndonos divinas. Cuando finalmente estamos listas se ha hecho un poco tarde, pero igualmente aprovechamos de tomarnos un par de fotos antes de salir porque con este nivel de producción nos sentimos poderosas e increíblemente bellas. ¿Te ha pasado? Así me sentí yo realizándome este maquillaje y durante las fotografías.

This photo shoot is inspired by those hours before an important event, when we spend the whole afternoon doing our makeup and getting ready with the musical company of our favorite pop singer. We are in the comfort of our room playing with makeup, having fun and feeling gorgeous. When we're finally ready it's a little late, but we still take a couple of pictures before we leave because with this level of production we feel powerful and incredibly beautiful. Has it ever happened to you? That's how I felt doing this make-up and during the pictures.

Para terminar, me gustaría comentarles que para este reto logré unir dos elementos que evocan momentos importantes en mi vida, ya los he compartido por separado en esta comunidad, y en Hive, pero por primera vez están presentes juntos: El collar que uso aquí, lo utilicé para mi graduación de bachillerato, y el vestido, para mi graduación como psicóloga. Dos Sofías de distintos momentos están presentes en esta publicación, ambas aman la moda, pero hasta ahora pueden experimentarla, vivirla y sobre todo, disfrutarla en todo su esplendor.

To finish, I would like to tell you that for this challenge I managed to unite two elements that evoke important moments in my life, I have already shared them separately in this community, and in Hive, but for the first time they are present together: The necklace I wear here, I used it for my high school graduation, and the dress, for my graduation as a psychologist. Two Sofias from different moments are present in this publication, both love fashion, but until now they can experience it, live it and above all, enjoy it in all its splendor.
