El mes pasado tomamos una buena decisión: pasar navidad en Medellín. Ya nos habían comentado que es una ciudad muy amable, alegre, colorida… pudimos confirmarlo desde el primer día que llegamos. Lo que más impacta de esta ciudad en épocas decembrinas son las luces y todas las decoraciones alusivas a la navidad. Las personas de acá y la alcaldía realmente se toman en serio el espíritu de la navidad. Las casas, edificios, las calles, parques y centros comerciales, todo está lleno de luces de colores, árboles de navidad y brillo. Una de las actividades para hacer en Medellín en Diciembre es precisamente recorrer la ciudad para apreciar “Los Alumbrados”, tomar fotografías y disfrutar de la alegría y el movimiento que se siente en el ambiente.
Last month we made a good decision: to spend Christmas in Medellin. We had already been told that it is a very friendly, cheerful, colorful city... we could confirm it from the first day we arrived. What is most striking about this city during the Christmas season are the lights and all the Christmas decorations. The people here and the mayor's office really take the Christmas spirit seriously. The houses, buildings, streets, parks and shopping malls, everything is full of colored lights, Christmas trees and glitter. One of the activities to do in Medellin in December is precisely to walk around the city to appreciate "Los Alumbrados", take pictures and enjoy the joy and movement that is felt in the atmosphere.
Uno de los lugares decorados que visitamos hace unos días fue El Parque Itagüí. Simplemente estuvimos caminando por las zonas aledañas al lugar donde nos estamos quedando, y nos encontramos con este parque iluminado por las luces y por la felicidad de las personas (niños y adultos) que lo visitan.
One of the decorated places we visited a few days ago was Itagüí Park. We were just walking around the areas surrounding the place where we are staying, and we found this park illuminated by the lights and the happiness of the people (children and adults) who visit it.
Decidí tomar algunas fotografías para compartir en esta comunidad. Jugando con las luces y sombras capturé desde distintas formas y perspectivas las imágenes que yo estaba viendo. Cómo pueden ver, sobre las calles se forman luces con los colores de la bandera de Colombia (Amarillo, azul y rojo), y dentro del parque hay decoraciones que guindan de los árboles, túneles llenos de luces para tomarse fotografías, regalos y estrellas decorados. La plaza queda totalmente alumbrada y llena de colores. Cientos de personas se sientan por allí para compartir con sus familias, otros capturan selfies y otros disfrutan de la gastronomía del lugar. En nuestro caso, decidimos probar con un helado que vimos que todo el mundo estaba comiendo, un “Sundae” de helado de vainilla, sirope de chocolate y topping de bolitas de chocolate. Comiendo ese postre allí todo se sentía como en una película, y no podía quedarme con esas fotos para mí sola, así que las comparto por acá. Creo que a través de estas imágenes pueden apreciar lo bonito que es visitar Medellín en Navidad 🎄🪅🎇🌠🏙🌉
I decided to take some pictures to share with this community. Playing with the lights and shadows I captured from different shapes and perspectives the images I was seeing. As you can see, on the streets there are lights with the colors of the Colombian flag (yellow, blue and red), and inside the park there are decorations hanging from the trees, tunnels full of lights to take pictures, gifts and decorated stars. The square is completely lit up and full of colors. Hundreds of people sit around to share with their families, others take selfies and others enjoy the local gastronomy. In our case, we decided to try an ice cream that we saw that everyone was eating, a "Sundae" of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and chocolate balls topping. Eating that dessert there everything felt like in a movie, and I couldn't keep those pictures to myself, so I'm sharing them here. I think through these pictures you can appreciate how nice it is to visit Medellin at Christmas 🎄🪅🎇🌠🏙🌉.
