Today was a day to “gas up” the brain so it can move forward.
And by fuel I mean reading/studying and by moving forward I mean developing ideas and creating content.
If you read me around here I'd love to know if there are any psychological topics you'd like me to talk about, or if there are any current issues you'd like to understand from a psychological angle.
I have some ideas and I try to focus not only on theoretical analysis and explanation but also on how we can apply the knowledge of psychology to everyday life. And there is a lot to talk about....
I take this opportunity to share with you a TED talk I saw today about the importance of thinking in terms of “yet”, when we are working for something but we have not yet achieved it.
It is more enriching to think “I haven't gotten to where I want to go yet” than to think “I didn't get to where I wanted to go”.
Absolutist thinking is rigid and does not help us much with our ability to learn and grow. So, I share with you my learning today, which I got from this talk led by psychologist Carol Dweck. I hope you enjoy it and, of course, that you can get something positive from this material.
See you in a future post :)
