Hi everyone, I'll be talking about how one can potentially earn when playing Gods Unchained.
You might already know some of the things that I'll be covering but that's okay, you might learn something you haven't.
There are two main ways to earn on GU:
$GODS/IMX tokens
ETH
$GODS token is GU official token which you can get by playing the game. Right now, there is an event called Blessing of the Gods that will end January 24th 3:59pm PST
As seen, there are conditions to fulfill to get the tokens. Not to worry, these conditions can be automatically tracked on gudecks.com
You can navigate the website by clicking on 'Meta' on the top right-hand corner
Then click on the 'Player Stats' tab and type in your in-game name in the user search bar.
If you have a common name, you have to look through each to find the one that reflects your account, which you can identify with your current rank (unless someone else has the same name and rank as you. You can always change it if so.)
When you find your account, scroll down and you will be able to see the conditions tracker.
As you can see, you have to play 20 matches with 7 wins and 17 unique opponents to get 1 base point.
To get subsequent points, you have to play an additional 20 matches and get 17 unique opponents from those matches.
Let's say you played all 60 matches and met 51 unique opponents, you will get a minimum of 3 points.
If you get a rank higher than Twilight shadow, you will gain an additional 0.5 points and another 0.5 for Ethereal Diamond and above. In other words, the maximum points you can get is 4.
At this point, you might be wondering what points are. I will let Citadel Herald, author of Gods Unchained Blog, tell you.
Because I'm bad at math, all I can tell you is that I got around 10.3 GODS tokens for last week's earnings with a Solar Gold rank (3.5 points).
You can claim your tokens at https://godsunchained.com/token/claim by clicking on the 'Blessing of the Gods' tab.
It will lead you to the bottom of the page, where you can claim your tokens every following Friday after you get your points.
If you had played the game before June 21 2021, you can head over to the 'Respective Rewards' tab to see if you're eligible to claim GODS token and IMX tokens. If you are a new player, unfortunately, you wouldn't qualify for these token airdrops (that you might have heard).
Now that you had claimed your tokens, what can you do with them?
You can either buy cards with them on Immutable X, or you can sell them on cryptocurrencies exchange (such as Coinbase, Crypto.com, or FTX).
Although the latter is not recommended due to high gas fees (to transfer them from Immutable X to your metamask wallet and then from your wallet to an exchange) unless you have a significant amount of tokens to earn a profit with them.
And if you don't have ETH on your metamask wallet in the first place, there is no point withdrawing your tokens to your wallet. (I've learned this the hard way.)

Now, let's talk about ETH and how we can earn them.
Similar GODS/IMX token, you can buy and sell cards with ETH. Being an NFT, each card should be considered an investment that you can either buy, sell or hold.
If you are a new player, there are factors to consider when buying or selling cards. First of all, each card has a different quality: Plain (grey border), Meteorite (red), Shadow (purple), Gold (yellow), and Legendary (blue with pink accents).
Plain cards cannot be sold (which is why it won't appear on your IMX inventory), and have to be forged (with two plain cards of the same type) to get the next level of quality (Meteorite).
This can be done so in-game, by using Flux and GODS tokens.
This brings us to the second factor - rarity. There are 4 types: Common (grey), Rare (blue), Epic (Purple), and Legendary (yellow). (There's also Mythic which I haven't seen before so I wouldn't know.)
Each rarity would cost GODS to forge at 0.1, 0.3, 0.7, and 1.5 respectively. So be sure to see if you could make a profit by checking the current price of GODS in exchanges and the amount of ETH you earn selling them.
Another thing to note is that cards from the Welcome set (the cards you get when you first started playing the game) cannot be forged.
Core cards (the ones you get from opening packs by leveling up or through Weekend rank or by buying them in the Star Store) will most likely be the cards you have in your hands as a beginner. There are other sets to take note of, mainly Genesis and Trial of the Gods, which tend to be more expensive due to their limited quantity. The current set which you can get by buying card packs or through Weekend rank in Divine Order. https://godsunchained.com/buy-packs
TLDR - Cards with higher quality and rarity tend to be more expensive, but that might not be the case depending on their demand and supply. Demand is influenced by the current meta, and supply differs by card sets.

Like GODS token, ETH needs to be withdrawn and transferred to Layer 1/metamask to be sold on exchanges, so unless you have a significant amount, it is not worth doing so.
All in all, Gods Unchained is a game where you have to treat it as a long-term investment to get worthwhile returns (to cash out).
Even if you don't see results for a while, the game itself is fun to play. Or if you are someone who isn't interested in playing the game, you can invest in GODS or IMX tokens on exchanges like any other cryptocurrencies, (not financial advice).
So now that you know how to earn money potentially with Gods Unchained, go ahead and try the game out. There are new exciting features that the GU team will have for the game in the near future.
