It is seven days into the year 2022. I love all the positive attitudes I see everywhere I turn, not to be overly optimistic. People realize that it is time to take back their lives. Time to have some fun too!
That doesn't mean going into a vast, crowded room and kissing everyone. Oh, no! Not that for many reasons! It means it is time to start leaving our cozy, safe nest, spread our wings to fly on to new ventures. Work on ideas we have been waiting to do since the world broke.
With many improved ways of communicating, the sky limits what we can achieve this year. I can also tell you what I will not be doing this coming year.
The photo in this post's thumbnail is a screenshot from my phone. My phone alarm must have decided that it too did not like my sleeping patterns. What I said to my phone alarm can not be repeated in type.
My phone's suggestion was deleted right after I spent ten minutes trying to remember how to take a screenshot on my phone. Yes. Old.
What have I been up to this last week that I didn't write a post until now? I have been working on organizing and cleaning out my desk area. One example is cleaning off my computer desktops. I had around one hundred and twenty icons and folders just sitting there filling up space.
I did not want to get rid of most files on the desktops, but I knew I would never find what I was looking for the way it was.
Three long hours later, my desktop(s) is once again all blank but for the trash bin and one small folder. This makes me happy to look at and feel like being more productive. Win!!
Speaking of goals, I wrote a post about how I wanted to start making my dreams a reality this year. I am not a person that likes lists. If you hand me a list, I will set it aside and never look at it again. I was born with the no list gene. It's rare. There has not been a lot of research on it, but it was something I was born with. Really!
Knowing myself as I do and wanting to accomplish meaningful things this year, I knew I would need some help. I ended up buying the Erin Condren Petiteplanner goal-setting journal a few months ago, and there it sat.
It was in a box under my table and as far back from me as it could be. I had never even opened the pages in the two-plus months I have owned it. It is a book to make lists in and many helpful tips to get you going to achieve your dreams.
It is nice and small. When I look at it, I do not get overwhelmed. Though I did have to come to terms with the book knowing making lists was in my future.
I have spent the week reading through the goal-setting journal. I am writing down what I want to achieve this year and in my lifetime. I know myself. I need to take things slow, as I stated in this post. Following my own advice seems to be working for me...so far.
The first week in January has not ended yet, and I am farther ahead than I ever was before. This makes me happy!

@TattoodJay's #WednesdayWalk tag came up in conversation during the last week. The idea behind his contest is for you to go out each Wednesday and walk around taking photos. You then write a post about where you were and what you saw on your walk. The tag is a great place to find fun and exciting stories.
I mentioned to TattoodJay that I only walk upstairs, it being Winter and all. I asked if I could use that for a Wednesday walk post. He said sure, as long as you take photos and write about it, except it is now technically Saturday and not Wednesday, but when have I ever followed the rules.
There is no prize for using the tag, as far as I know. It is just for fun. This means I am not hurting anyone by telling you about my exciting walks on my way upstairs in my house on Wednesday on a Friday.
Please meet Molly. She is on vacation at my house for nine days. A little over a month ago, Molly tore her ACL on her back right leg. She is getting older and slowing down, but my heart went out to her when she walked in. Molly is in pain, and it shows. She was also in need of a good long rest.
I let her up on the couch because our house is one hundred years old and very drafty. She has rested and slept deep on my couch all week. Molly is slowly getting some of her spunkiness back, yet I noticed today that her limp was back when taking her outside.
The cute thing about Molly lying on the couch is every time I walk through the living room on my way upstairs, she is in one weird position after another.
Seeing Molly this way always brightens my spirit. I wanted to share that will you all too!!
And on that note, I will wish you a very wonderful weekend!!
Help someone smile today. It can not hurt you.
