But first — what is Snaps?
Snaps is a fairy recent new feature introduced by PeakD to allow users to post short-form content (up to 280 characters) — much like tweets, status updates, or microblogs — directly onto the Hive blockchain.
👍 They’re perfect for:
- Quick thoughts and updates
- Short tips and recommendations
- Sharing a photo or a single idea
- Linking to longer posts or external content
🔑 Key Features:
- No titles required
- No beneficiaries or advanced options on payout
- Supports images, tags, and markdown
- Shows in a special "Snaps" feed on PeakD
- Great for casual engagement and discovery
In other words, a Snap is a post 'on-the-go' — great for letting your followers know what you're up to, it can help build your audience, and of course, it pays too.
Enter: Hive Snaps!
Up until now, Snaps was only accessible through the PeakD frontend on your browser (via desktop or a phone). Now, with Hive Snaps app you can post snaps directly on your iPhone or Android - much like with other social media apps such as X and Bluesky.
