Love Or Hate!

My return has been meet with changes. There has been a lot of changes that have been made, mainly improvements, So far they seem to actually have made things better, I do not have any issues with the things that have changed. The 7 days for a payout seems to be helping post pay better. One thing that will never change. The FlagWars, they have been around for a long time, the players have changed, the reasons for the flags has changed. In the end, there will always be a FlagWar. As for me, I do my best to remain on the sideline and simply enjoy the spectacle. For me life is simply way to short to.

FlagWar as I saw it!

As always FlagWars can be lots of fun, specially when just sitting around on the sidelines. As January kicked off, there was a FlagWar ensuing, @dantheman had been selecting certain posts in which he felt had to much value, and would down vote them. On the other side of things, anything @dantheman had been flagging was receiving an up vote by none other than @smooth.

In this case, one person felt the down vote could be used to basically deflate the payout of said post, and increase the payout to every other post. There had been rounds of different proposals of how to deal with the flags. At the time these flag wars brought about the creation of the account @asshole!

@asshole on the other hand just simply flagged every single post they could, the times they did not flag was due to recovering from no voting power. This lead to the rise of an account or two that where aimed at up voting the accounts that had been flagged by @asshole, being a flag at the time could possible hide the post.

FlagWars Continued

Upon my return, seven days ago, I have noticed there still is a trend of people flagging each other, and creating a war of flags. The players have changed just a bit, but over the course of the last week here I have seen @berniesanders making posts about how another user has in his way #rewardpoolrape. The other side of this new war going on is @gavvet, both of them claim the other is controlling several various accounts. @gavvet says he uses his other accounts so as not to receive larger payouts in his main account.

Other issues, before my time

Prior to me joining SteemIt, there was an account that was plagiarizing, and receiving large payouts for simply a copy and past of another webpage. From what I can tell this lead to the flags being added, not sure if at the time there had been flags. Either way, what I remember reading was that the original design or concept was for an up vote only system, but the flag or down vote was added either due to that abuse or due to the fact that people will take the easy road. This means some people will copy and paste and not take the time to create their own work.

So nothing new, people change but some of the issues are always going to remain the same. So I will just keep living on!
