a pro-hive person who could easily be masking these transactions just verified this with Steem.js manually BTW, it doesn't appear steemd is lying. it means that @anonsteem stored the keys of created accounts

Account recovery wasn't used to takeover community321. Whoever compromised community321 determined its private keys. (not that much is changed by the difference)

I don't see how there could be legal ramifications for not processing transactions? Witnesses are free to process whatever transactions they feel like, and @themarkymark has decided to run node software

As for the botnet, I wouldn't be suprised if Gab, in #2, tried to do something like that. There wasn't much promotion in the Gab community for the vote, it's hard to see how they got to #2. Hacker Noon

Keep in mind that it costs VP to downvote (and hide comments). If that comment was upvoted by ~$0.05 then it would be visible again. The downvoters of that comment only did so with a rather small downvote.
