Every so often it is a good idea to go back to the basics

Banking on Bitcoin

Someone had a 54BTC sell order in on Steem, all at once, if I remember it was at 21590 sats. What does this person know that the rest of us don't? Why not break up that order into smaller orders without making such a grand statement? If I had 54BTC would I unload just to get 54 BTCGold?

Apparently Russia "banned" Bitcoin today and there was a flash crash to $600, which recovered in about 10 minutes. I didn't even notice. I bought some BTC via GDAX which is an awesome service, but the fact that I didn't hesitate to buy in at $4875 I think demonstrates the resiliancy and newness still in the market. Will I hesitate when the price is $10k or $50k. I thought about trading through Ether into EOS, but thought there was such euphoria in the BTC market that it would continue to trend up until I could exit the trade, which is did, and then fell after to around $4750. Carter Thomas is back doing his daily Youtube and highlighted that there is a tremendous amount of headlining, angling, and each has their own agenda.... important how it affects you. What are you going to do? A lot is fake news and a waste of time. The market is only as stressful as you let it make you. Folks are going to get burnt out and make bad decisions.

I checked out what Charlie Shrem is up to now that he is out of prison. I think Charlie and Eric Voorhees, and other evangelists should join Steem, and start a blog. I hate Twitter, but at the same I'm interested in what these type of people have to say. Maybe I'll join twitter for this reason, but I wish Steem had a twitter-like application instead.

I'm going back home to visit my folks next month as my grandfather is turning 100. He still lives on his own, and doing well. I'm thinking my new angle with my dad to get him interested in cryptos is to get him a ledger nano s and load it up with $100 of a combination of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin or something like that. I'm also getting my mom an Instant Pot. I'm a big fan.

I have been finding the coins that I'm comfortable with and expanding my long term HODl portfolio. The ones I don't have yet but am interested in are BAT, Factom, NEO, OMG, ARK... I think the inventor of Javascript, and Tim Draper are no dummies. Schrem seems to be promoting the Vibe token, not sure what the Winkelvoss's are invested in lately....these people are usually in the know and I'd like to understand their business models better. I keep hearing that Bitconnect, and Tether are scams. I also think that some of these mining outfits seem to be scams, and don't understand how they won't be obsoleted by Proof of Stake or hybrid models.

What if the Universal Basic Income were given out to people by loading up hardware wallets with crypto and handling them out based on SSN?
