Love.
What is love? I am going to quote some verses from the Bible; I am using the Good News Bible in this case:
“Love is kind, love is patient. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
This is what I believe love to be. I believe that when you claim to love someone and that love doesn’t have the above-named attributes, then do you truly love that someone? We are humans, and various circumstances that affect our emotions are bound to happen, which can make us react to our loved ones in a disrespectful way. Does this mean we do not love them? No. But what you do after that matters.
I would like to add, ‘Love apologizes. Love forgives. It does not betray; it is loyal’. The world would be a better place if we could love truly and completely.
It is the same with self-love. How do you expect to give out love when you are unkind to yourself? I find myself struggling with this most times. I place myself under unnecessary pressure because I feel I need to achieve something as time is running out. Yet, my resources are limited. I beat myself up for it; I get angry, and I end up transferring my aggression to people I care about. Self-love is difficult for some and easy for others.
Boobs.
Boobs mean breasts (I am sure we know that), and they are really soft, beautiful and amazing structures. They come in various shapes and sizes and differ across race, gender, and age. Some women what it bigger, others want it smaller. I love my boobs the way they are, and for me, staring at my boobs is a kind of ‘stress-relief’ mechanism. I stand in front of the mirror and admire them for a few minutes. I really love how they help boost my self-confidence especially on days when I am feeling ugly.
Adventure.
Whenever I think of adventure, almost nothing comes to mind except maybe a small planned trip with my family. I haven’t desired an experience that is unusual, exciting, or daring. I like to travel, but most times I end up staying indoors or trying out restaurants. I went on a trip to VI, Lagos State, Nigeria, for a few days and did absolutely nothing. I was excited about the trip, but on getting there, I just wanted to stay indoors and sleep. It was then that I realized that I am pretty much unexcited about anything. I wouldn’t try a pool because I’m scared of water. I haven’t even been to a beach, and I am not sure I want to. I can’t get on a roller coaster or climb mountains because I am scared of heights. I look forward to nothing. I wonder if that is a problem?
