I went for a walk with daddy today. We went on an adventure through the forest. That was my first time ever walking in the forest, it was a bit exciting but I had to be very careful I didn't slip over. There is still a lot of snow on the ground and also a lot of ice. We walked a long way and daddy took some photos along the adventure. We went all the way down to the lake and even though it was downhill, daddy carried me the last few metres. Maybe a few more than a few.
It was good to be out in the fresh air and I got to work a bit more on my running technique although, running in boots is not the greatest. I am more of a barefoot runner and at home I tear my socks off at every opportunity I get and then run around screaming "Very fast, very fast!"
I run like the wind at home although there was a little incident tonight where I missed a step and landed flat on my face. It hurt but it was the shock more than anything. The faster they run, the faster they fall as the saying might go. Falling doesn't seem to bother me though and daddy always says, "It's okay, we all fall sometimes." When something like that happens now, I repeat It's okay, it's okay and it calms me down and I get back on with life quickly.
I know daddy doesn't really feel he knows what he is doing when it comes to being a parent but every night when he puts me to bed he says he loves me. We have some little 'rituals' too like when he kisses me it is always hug on the left side and kiss, hug on the right side and kiss. It calms me too and especially before bed it is a nice way to fall asleep. Perhaps at this stage, he is doing right enough by me.
It is lucky we have an elevator as it was a long way to the lake, even downhill and I just couldn't make it back up the hill so, daddy carried me. I kept telling him in both Finnish and English 'heavy'. I think it helped. The picture is from the elevator and I like to count the numbers as we go up and when we reach the fifth floor and the elevator stops I say, "This is us."
There is a lot of upside to family, there is also a lot of right. And a proper family never ever leaves anyone out. This is Us.
