It used to be a simple routine. At around 5 pm each day, one of the parents would ask if I would like some milk, I'd say yes and while they made it, I would go and get a pillow to rest my head on as I lay on the floor. But now, it is Monkey. Monkey and I drink together every afternoon. I now literally have a monkey on my back.

We are actually running into a problem again soon. Because of my allergies, I have a special amino acid based formula. It is super expensive according to the adults but, I need it as a supplement for all of the things I am unable to eat. Mummy found someone that was selling quite a few cans of it pretty cheap which was awesome but, they will run out soon. The plan is to have me eating a wide enough range of foods so I don't need the supplement before they do.

I am getting better slowly though, and the other day I ate a little bit of fresh lettuce. It was weird. I also had some soy yoghurt which I really enjoyed. Dad said it was weird. Very, very slowly I feel like I am getting past this but, I don't want to get my hopes up just yet, there have been too many failures before.

I heard them talking though today that perhaps we will go somewhere on a holiday this year for a few days. Barcelona to see my aunty who will be there with friends. It is a long, long way away so I am going to do my best to get into travel condition, which means, being able to eat food we can buy and prepare in Spain. Paella I assume.

I would love to go to Barcelona. Since the day I came home, I would sit on the bed with daddy and look at the picture on the wall. It is one he took from their first trip away. Just this afternoon we laid there together and he asked me to find things in the picture. My favourite to find is the dog of course. Dogs are the best. Better than monkeys even I think.

I think it would be quite cool to have my first international trip to be to the same city they had theirs together. but, it all depends on my allergies. It is easy to focus only on what affects us but I do know there are kids with much more serious issues and parents who struggle even more than my own. I think though, that in the end, it will be these hard times that get appreciated, the effort that went into improving conditions. Maybe if life is too easy, we take it for granted.

I don't know though, for now, I am just happy to sit back, relax and have a drink with Monkey. I wonder if I will get to sit next to him on the plane?
