Shakespeare was born April 26, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. He is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and one of the most influential people of all time. He was a poet and playwright. His work consists of subjects of life, love, death, revenge, grief, jealousy, murder, magic, mystery, and comedy. His works consist of 154 sonnets, 39 plays, and two narrative poems. His works have been translated into every major language.
Shakespeare once said, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” He was all three.
