Lately I've been trying to get subtle textures from downtown Chicago like this bronze mask on the side of a theater.
They also had a bronze lion.
Look at the ornamentation on this jewelry store.
Here is a really ornamental light. These few blocks are full of older bank buildings, off in the background you can see all the modern finacial buildings trading vaporware derivatives.
Now I made it to my destination. This was a lunch walk to Nandos, a restaurant that serves South African style chicken, quite good but it is quite a walk away. I snapped this picture of their hodge podge light collection above the register.
Now its back to work with my carryout lunch. All the old bank buildings have huge pillars on the outside. These buildings would be great subjects for pinhole photography.
Here's a 70s era bank building with kind of a boring style to it. The only interesting thing about it is the way it slopes gradually upward.
Now for a grimey parking lot with some elaborate street art.
Here are some owl patterns on the side of a hotel entry. Maybe the owls will scare away all the rats in the alleyway.
Now its time to head back home, oomph they changed the train schedules and now everyone gets packed onto one train.
