Reaching from the Darkness - Oil Painting Study

Here is a small oil painting panel that my fiance is working on with the process below. It is not finished yet butit is getting close.

The hand is reaching out from a darkness below into bright warm light.

Now for the process from end to start.

This shows the painting before the orange has been added.

Here the edges are less refined and the paint is still showing the pencil beneath it.

Here she is detailing the edges a bit with a tiny brush.

The process of filling in the drawing with the dominant yellow.

In this step just the hand has been filled in.

The initial process of blocking in the shapes.

Finally a shot of the first steps in mixing the paint colors.
