Photo from my family album

It had been a long time since I visited the ThoughtfulDailyPost Community, from my good friend wesphilbin@wesphilbin, and today I am back, to share some ideas and reflections, so I greet you all and I hope you have a beautiful month of July 2023.

I can say that today, Wednesday, July 5, I feel better. About 8 or more days ago, even yesterday, it was not like that, I felt really bad physically and mentally; and it is that I got sick unexpectedly. I didn't think I was going to feel so bad since I had COVID19 in 2021, but there is no immunity to this virus (not even the vaccine guarantees it), and apparently I contracted a variant of that disease, the one that literally knocked me out, maybe not with the same intensity as the first time, but it caught me off guard and really affected me, to the point of feeling pain in places on my body that I thought wouldn't hurt as much. My hair literally hurt, if that's even possible.

All these days of confinement and forced rest in my room, I had a lot of time to think. Although I could have watched TV, I didn't want to. From time to time I would hear a video on Youtube, because I couldn't bear to watch it, I could only hear it. I couldn't sleep peacefully either, because the cough and nausea didn't give me a break, so I only had short rest intervals. The rest of the time I dedicated to thinking, reflecting and remembering, and one of the things that I remembered the most was THE SEA.

As a child I had a close relationship with the sea. Although it wasn't daily, it was very frequent, that's why I learned to love it. Of course, my parents and my family also taught me to love and respect him, which is why it was always so beautiful to meet him again, look at him from afar, smell him and then arrive and be able to enjoy the sun, the sand, the water, the sounds, the scents, the birds, the kites in the sky, even the people enjoying the beach…everything there was magical and beautiful to me.

I know that the sea can be unforgiving and dark, but as the saying goes: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” , so for me it was always kind, even when I crossed it in small boats, to knowing the vulnerability of these vessels. It was so pleasant to walk the beaches looking for small treasures of sea shells, stones, coral remains, crabs... I always valued those moments, as well as those that the sea gave me later, as an adult, with its warmth and energy, allowing me to build unforgettable memories for me.

I haven't met this old friend for a long time, and in these cold and difficult days, I missed him overwhelmingly, because I really wanted to be close to him, to heal myself of that nasty virus. I hope to be close to him again soon, surely that day I will feel very happy, and healthy too.

Here I end my post for today, inviting you to appreciate each natural space in which you can be, and to value each day that you can live healthy. A hug for everyone.
