Gefühlt jedes Schaltjahr bin ich dabei, beim neusten #beersaturday. Eher selten, dafür besonders motiviert. Es ist schon der 237 beersaturday und genau bei diesem mach ich mit. #detlev sammelt weiter Gewinne die er verteilt, was den Beer-Flow nicht zur Neige gehen lässt.

It feels like every leap year I'm there for the latest #beersaturday. Rather rarely, but I'm especially motivated. It's already the 237th beersaturday and this is the one I'm participating in. #detlev keeps collecting the prizes that he distributes, which will not let the Beer Flow run out.

Inzwischen bedient er sich in der #hive-engine bei seinem eigenen #beer Token sowie #leo Token und seit neustem #dunk Token. Eine Tribe die im Moment noch eine sehr kleine Parallelwelt bei den Tribes bedient.

The creator of BEERSATURDAY'S has new tokens looking for beer lovers almost every time. In the meantime, he uses his own #beer token in the #hive-engine, as well as #leo tokens and, most recently, #dunk tokens. A tribe that currently still serves a very small parallel world among the tribes.

Aber genug vom digitalen, hin zum analogen trinken. Selbstverständlich trinke ich nicht nur aus hydrologischen Gründen, nein mitunter auch einfach zum Spaß. Manchmal geht das so weit das ich mich betrinke. Aber es soll hier auch nicht um mich gehen sondern ums Bier und dessen Namen ist: STEAMWORKS Jasmin IPA.

But enough about digital, let's move on to analogue drinking. Of course, I don't just drink for hydrological reasons, no, sometimes I just drink for fun. Sometimes it goes so far that I get drunk. But this is not about me, it's about the beer and its name is STEAMWORKS Jasmin IPA.

Das optisch asiatisch oder besser chinesisch anmutende Bier ist in Wirklichkeit aus Kanada. Dort ist es aber nicht gebraut den die Brauerei hat eine eigene Produktion im Herzen von Europe, genauer in Bayern (immer noch Deutschland). Es handelt sich um ein IPA also ein India Pale Ale mit ein bisschen mehr Bums als Normalbier, insgesamt habe ich 6.5% vol. gezählt.

The beer, which looks Asian or rather Chinese, is actually from Canada. But it is not brewed there, the brewery has its own production in the heart of Europe, more precisely in Bavaria (still Germany). It is an IPA, i.e. an India Pale Ale with a bit more kick than a normal beer, I counted a total of 6.5% vol.

Bezahlen muss man für dieses Craft-Beer um die 3.00 € d.h. der Liter kommt auf ca. 9.00 €. Nicht gerade billig, deshalb auch alles andere als mein Standard. Wie es aber einmal so ist, Ausnahmen bestätigen die Regel und ich habe mich an der Degustierung dieses Luxus Biers versucht.

You have to pay around 3.00 € for this craft beer, the litre comes to around 9.00 €. Not exactly cheap, which is why it is anything but my standard. But as it happens, exceptions prove the rule and I attempted to taste this luxury beer.

Beim einschenken merkt man sofort das Leben drin ist. Die Kohlensäure macht dich nass solltest du versuchen deinen Kopf auf dem frisch eingeschenkten Glas aus-zu-ruhen. Außerdem bekommst du in diesem Fall auch einen Bart. Die Schaumkrone ist eine echte Schönheit mit ausdauernder Existenz. Schlecht für jemanden wie mich der Schaum gar nicht mag. Daher hieß es für mich: Please wait!

When pouring, you immediately notice that there is life in it. The carbonation will make you wet if you try to rest your head on the freshly poured glass. In this case, you will also get a beard. The foam crown is a real beauty with an enduring existence. Bad for someone like me who doesn't like foam at all. So for me this meant: Please wait!

Nach einer gefühlten Viertel-Stunde gings dann los. An dieser Stelle muss ich ein Geständnis machen. Ich bin wirklich schlecht im gustieren von Bier, ich habe keine Ahnung, wenig Erfahrung und vielleicht nicht die Zunge um eine valide Bewertung abzuliefern. Trotzdem habe ich es probiert und bin zur Gesamtnote "interessant" gekommen.

After what felt like a quarter of an hour, it was finally time to start. At this stage, I have to make a confession. I am really bad at tasting beer, I have no idea, little experience and perhaps not the tongue to deliver a valid opinion. Nevertheless, I tried it and came to the final rating of "interesting".

Auf dem Etikett steht "Jasmin", ich kenne die Blume aus zahlreichen olfaktorischen Erfahrungen aus Südeuropa. Diesen Geruch konnte ich meinem "Gustus" nicht nahe bringen. Die Wiederkennung im Mund-rachen-Raum misslang. Natürlich ist Geruch und Geschmack nicht das Gleiche, irgendetwas sehr fruchtiges gab es aber, ob das der Geschmack von Jasmin ist... who knows?

The label says "jasmine", I know the flower from numerous olfactory experiences from Southern Europe. I could not bring this odour close to my "gustus". The recognition in the palate and throat failed. Of course, smell and taste are not the same, but there was something very fruity, whether that is the taste of jasmine... who knows?

Kaum habe ich angefangen mir sinnlose Gedanken zu meiner Unfähigkeit Dinge heraus zu schmecken gemacht, schon war das Glas leer. Irgendwie war es gut, aber mehr wollte ich auch nicht unbedingt. Ist bei dem Preis auch nicht zu empfehlen.

I hardly started thinking pointlessly about my inability to taste things when the glass was already empty. Somehow it was good, but I didn't really want more. At this price, it's not to be recommended.

Fazit: Lässt sich prima und schnell trinken. Geschmacklich eine große Abwechslung zu Standard Bier allerdings zu einem fragwürdigen Preis. Meinen Freunden würde ich eine Flasche davon empfehlen. Personen denen diese Bier gefällt, gefällt es auch anderen Leuten Kamillentee anzubieten.

Conclusion: Quick and easy to drink. A great change from standard beer, but at a questionable price. I would recommend a bottle to my friends. People who like this beer also like offering chamomile tea to other people.
