So I've been working out with my buddy and today was cardio day.
I like cardio now.
I used to hate cardio
Until I discovered what avid runners call "the runner's high". I fell in love and never went back.

I am, to say the least, a little out of shape. After a shoulder injury and a new job, I haven't worked out in almost a year.

So I was having a rough time, but pain has always been a great source of fuel for our creative furnaces, right?

So, During this session, in the middle of an asthma attack, I made up a chant, or poem if you will.

Here it is:
As I run I hear the sound of the wind, the birds, and my breath
Labored from stress
So I concentrate on the feelings of my feet
Connecting with the street, then

My breath
My stress
Begins to become less
Because I focused on my breath

Because I focus on my breath
I'm finally at my best.
I'm finally at my best...

... and that's what I would repeat when I started to get that, "I just wanna quit" mentality.
And it worked.
I'm going to keep doing this because it help me keep calm and enjoy, "my runners high".

I hope you enjoyed my poem/running chant.
