A few years ago I took these photos for a photographic project that was named Alma Nua (Naked Soul). He was born as a result of the partnership with the plastic artist Karla Bratfisch, who made naked bodies of blank canvas, filling them with her art. After the painting sessions, I took action to photograph the result.
I was very young and was starting some experiments with artistic photography. To show the photos, we held two exhibitions: one in the city of Campinas and another in Ribeirão Preto, both in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
The photos were taken in cities in the region of Campinas and São Paulo. And people were photographed in the spaces that we had available. Usually your own apartments or some isolated places close to nature, as it is not so simple here to take naked people to do a photo shoot in the middle of the street for example.
All models were volunteers who wanted to hand over their bodies to be part of the project.
