When it comes to health, I like taking the most natural approach before I try the more aggressive approaches. The "bandaid solution" (i.e. taking drugs for symptoms instead of addressing the cause) that has taken over the world has separated us from our true ability to heal and overcome. While there are many that would say that's hocus pocus and science knows best. I do agree that science is factual, has a great brain behind it and can save your life, and in no way should we decide to look though your cupboard for an herb or food or a "natural" solution when you have a heart attack happening.
While allopathy has its place and the science behind it, it doesn't measure up to what nature or our maker has given us- the natural ability to heal and the natural resources to do so. (Although we seem to have lost the foundation of that knowledge in time). But mostly the brains and insight to prevent sickness.
The complexity and delicate balance of the body is not something that should be taken lightly, but yet we have become a society of antibiotics pushers and pill poppers
I do believe if we had an area for preventative and regenerative research as much as we have for finding cures for diseases, things like diabetes or cancer that have been on a rise, would be on a decline. diabetes chart
But we all know that the "almighty" dollar speaks and there's no profit to be made in preventing diseases. If there are so many healthy people that don't need as much healthcare or none at all, the industry would go bankrupt.
In that sense, it might be best that naturopath is left out "in the woods" (literally speaking too) when it comes to research, science and funding, because it seems that everything man touches, gets blinded by profit, and the intention to help humankind is gone. And Therein lies the corruption.
Maybe it is time to get back to our roots (literally speaking again) and do our own research and experiments and know what works for us. Especially in these times when we are left to fend for ourselves, when healthcare has become unaffordable and, really, we have no choice but to take care of ourselves, do detoxes necessary for prevention and regeneration. And not only that, but also making the dietary and lifestyle changes needed. The Healthcare of the future seems to be staring us right in the face...
