Afternoon everyone ….
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July celebration. It was still super hot and humid where I live, making it a rather uncomfortable day. I tried getting some work done early in the morning.
By around one in the afternoon, I had nothing left in me. Four straight days of one hundred degrees plus weather has taken its toll on me. Especially after being grillmaster of a barbecue on Friday.
It was a good thing that I did, because shortly afterwards it got extremely dark and windy. Not long after thunder and lightning were lighting up the sky and shaking the ground.
It started pouring to where you couldn’t even see outside. This lasted for nearly 40 minutes. We lost power a handful of times for several minutes, but thankfully it came back on.
Some areas of northwestern New Jersey were not so lucky. There were numerous funnel clouds spotted in many areas. The entire area my girlfriend lives in was trashed. Luckily not her exact area, but her town was trashed. Trees down everywhere, she sent me pictures of a utility pole snapped in half.
This morning she told me that the street she lived on just four years ago had a funnel cloud touch down. Over 50 trees down, several houses were damaged pretty badly. One of them was her old neighbor next door. A fence section was blown right through their front window smashing glass everywhere.
There were trees laying on houses, several vehicles were destroyed as well. Over 8,000 residents were without power.
Unfortunately we are supposed to get another major storm this evening……. Starting around seven tonight.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
Today I’m going to share a hand poured bar from a company that is no longer around. Unfortunately the owner passed away unexpectedly and the business closed. I believe it roughly three years ago now.
They produced some really nice bars in various shapes and sizes. I am a big fan of there work and have quite a few pieces from them.
Here is info on them…

Now the beautiful bar…
I don’t know if this is where they got their name from, but there was a Vulture Mine. The Vulture Mine was a gold mine and settlement in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. The mine began in 1863 and became the most productive gold mine in Arizona history. From 1863 to 1942 A.D., the mine produced 340,000 ounces (9,638.8 kgs) of gold and 260,000 ounces (7,370.9 kgs) of silver. Historically, the mine attracted more than 5,000 people to the area, and is credited with founding the town of Wickenburg, Arizona. The town that served the mine was known as Vulture City.
