I thought that I share some of my recent work and give you a shop build update today.
Let’s start with the shop build progress. The last update that I gave was that we had passed the rough out on the electrical.
That was just before the 4th of July holiday here. Most supply houses close that week, it’s typically a slow period so they shut down. Well that was the case for my contractor getting the materials on site to continue.
All that changed yesterday…
The insulation for both the walls and the attic were delivered. Along with all the drywall, spackle, attic pull-down stairs and other material.
Shortly after the arrival of the material, my contractors were on site working. They completed all of the insulation walls and attic as well as installed my pull-down attic stairs.
Now they are awaiting an insulation inspection.

I haven’t been sharing many job photos lately. But I thought you might like this.
Part of the reason I am good at what I do is I have an exceptional vision of what a room will look like when it’s completed, and whether or not it will look the way the customers think it will.
This job was just that….
What they thought they wanted which was elegance would have been an overdone gaudy mess if we stayed with what they thought they wanted.
Ever hear the saying “Less is More”. Well with molding that 99% the case. People want to overdo the molding and don’t understand and can’t envision the final result.
So instead of buying 4,000 board feet of molding and giving them a job I knew they wouldn’t be happy with and at that point stuck with. Unless they wanted to pay me again to do what I ended up doing the first time.
If a customer has there heart set on something, I trying to give them that 100% of the time. But when people tell me what they want and think what they are asking for is what they will end up with it’s a different story.
I spent way more time on this estimate than I wanted to. But I’m glad that I did. Because the wife is ecstatic about the final result. Which in her own words was “Better than I had ever dreamed of”.
While they gave me guidelines of what they were looking for. Looking at small samples confuses more people than it helps. So while giving them the custom crown molding, custom chair rail molding, wall picture boxes, and custom plinth blocks as wished. I was given creative freedom on determining what I thought fit their end desire.
