Breast or bum surgery is not an healthy act. What is your take on this?
As with many things it is that individual's choice and not my business, but at the same time I do feel it's unhealthy. I feel that Western/US society especially has cultivated this idea of what the 'perfect' person looks like and many people both men and women are getting this type of surgery to make themselves fit this idea when it's not needed for their health.
For example, I had a breast-related surgery when I was younger. This was, however, only after years of intense back pain because of their size and several months of looking for the right surgeon, consultations, and research into the procedure. I had the surgery because, medically speaking, there was a reason to other than to 'look pretty' and all the professionals I spoke to agreed and I honestly haven't had that kind of back pain since.
So like I said, if someone wants to it's not my business but I do think societies have developed a very unhealthy view of what people should look like and put an unhealthy amount of pressure on the average person to do anything to achieve that look including surgery. There's risks to going under the knife, and I feel like a lot of people don't really understand that when they get the kind of surgeries that aren't medically necessary for their betterment or health. Broader education on the subject as well as less pressure on people to look a certain way would probably make such surgeries take a nosedive, you know?
