Here's the full page layout:
G: "We wouldn't want to go have a super battle right after a haircut, anyway."
K: "Why not?"
G: "Doesn't your neck and shoulders get really itchy after a haircut?"
K: "Sometimes, I guess."
G: "Well, I'd rather not have that kind of distraction during a super battle."
K: "Right! To the showers!"
G: "I am NOT showering with you."
K: "I didn't mean-! I meant to our individual showers!"
G: "Uh huh."
I spent a good chunk of my Fourth of July drawing this Kickman page. It's all about the fans.
I am hoping that I will win a webcomic award for Best Choreographed Haircut in 2026. Please let the committee know about my contribution.
Which was of course based on this scene from Ted Lasso:
I even used Isaac Macadoo's jersey number (5) for our yellow-belted Coif Master. I was going to go with no dialog for the cutting panels, but I decided that this guy is not just an artist with the clippers. He is a master. (After all, some artists suck). So, as a master, I gave all of his cut maneuvers their own Kung-fu titles. Not going to lie, this page was fun to write and draw.
For those of you waiting in great anticipation for the final battle with the Supreme Leader... um, sorry. Needed haircuts first.
Those of you who have been following this comic for many years, may have noticed that the banner art on the home page has changed several times. Currently it says KICKMAN, LLC. But during the "Ampersand" era, the banner said "The Hero Formerly Known As Kickman." Why do I bring this up? Well, the original Kickman banner said, "Kickman: Fighting Evil, Looking Good." So Kickman and his sidekick are getting back to their roots by cleaning up their scalp mops. Because it's one thing to save the city... but you gotta look good doing it.
