I imagine Jaguars probably don't care for the desert. Although for all I know, the site of the Library of Alexandria was balmy and temperate. I did about 2 minutes of research and saw that it was on a coastline and that's all I know. For the sake of the strip, let's all agree that it's in the middle of nowhere surrounded by desert and scorpions, so it's highly unlikely that there should be a commercial coffee chain present. That way the gag totally works.
