I lured a scary ghost into chasing me and ducked inside an open house to hide. On the upper floor, I examined a twisted face mask and pulled a bloody key out of its skull. The ghost broke inside, forcing me to use the key to escape back onto the streets, where it kept hunting me.
I kept moving through the haunted neighborhood, constantly on edge because the game's atmosphere makes a jump scare feel like it could happen at any second.
I could hear strange, unsettling noises echoing off the buildings, and it didn't take long before that creeping ghost showed up nearby again.
She spotted my position almost immediately, forcing me to quickly look for a way out. I decided to play around with her pathing a bit to lure her away, but she made a creepy, unnatural leap across the area that caught me completely off guard.
As she started chasing me down the street, I spotted an open door leading into a nearby house and ducked straight inside, hoping to break her line of sight and maybe find someone who was still alive.
Once I was inside, the immediate threat seemed to fade, so I started investigating the ground floor before making my way up the stairs. Up on the second floor, I spotted a trail of bloodstains leading right past an open window.
I found a bizarre mask and examined it, only to realize it wasn't actually a mask at all. It was the actual, twisted face of a victim who had been hunted down.
Looking closer at the gruesome object, I found a bloody key jammed straight into the skull and pulled it free, though I had no idea what door it belonged to.
Before I could figure out my next move, the ghost managed to track me down and burst into the house. I scrambled around the dark upper level, trying to stay quiet while looking for a back exit.
I came across a heavy interior door, but the bloody key I just found wouldn't fit into the lock. The ghost kept searching the rooms and eventually cornered me, forcing me to make a desperate move.
I slipped right past her, ran through the same doorway she used to enter, and shoved the bloody key into the outer door. The lock clicked open, and I burst back out into the night air.
The ghost didn't follow me out the door right away, giving me a tiny moment to catch my breath. My main goal now was to make it back to the store while avoiding any other creatures lurking in the fog, which is almost impossible in a Silent Hill game.
Sure enough, the ghost refused to give up the chase and locked onto my position out on the street once again. I tried to duck behind cover and hide in the dark, but she just stood there waiting along the path ahead, making it very clear she wasn't going to leave until she takes me down.
