I successfully opened a heavy gate by rapidly tethering a lever to a supporting pillar, keeping it from closing. Although my own weight later shattered the structural support and caused me to fall repeatedly into the gap below. Then I eventually managed a risky, massive leap to safely clear the wide gap.
I immediately focused my attention on the newly discovered mechanism, realizing I had just opened a massive gate that could grant passage forward. I knew this device should work for sure if I could figure out the proper timing, so I decided to tether it quickly.
The massive door proved far too heavy for the lever to stay open on its own, rapidly pulling back into place before I could slip through the opening.
I thought that this structure could serve as a reliable support to anchor the rope. I pulled the heavy lever all the way back, quickly fired a rope arrow to tether it directly to the pillar, and watched the line pull taut. My theory worked perfectly, and I felt like an absolute genius.
With the gate secured, I stepped onto the platform to continue my climb, hoping the makeshift arrangement would hold long enough. Unfortunately, the ancient stone was simply too brittle.
The tension, combined with my own weight as I moved across, proved too much for the old ruins, causing a massive chunk of the structure to break out completely. The sudden structural failure instantly tore my path apart
Things quickly took a turn for the worse as I tried to navigate the broken terrain. I lost my footing entirely, crying out as I plummeted straight down into the deep chasm below.
After the area reloaded, I tried to time my jumps better, but I completely miscalculated the distance and fell a second time. My struggles only intensified on the next attempt, leading to a third consecutive fall from the exact same tricky spot.
I kept pushing forward through the trials. I braced myself for one more massive climb, scaling the remaining rocky verticality until I finally reached a point that looked remarkably close to the majestic eagle head monument.
I was standing near the definitive end of the challenging Trail of the Eagle, realizing just how brutally hard this entire section could be.
Seeing the final gap, I gathered my courage and executed a massive, highly risky jump across the open air, hoping to make it in a single try. Fortunately, I stuck the landing perfectly on the other side.
