My life as a student is one thing I would forever cherish and won't ever forget. I'm grateful because I was able to experience what we call student life. Fortunately for me I gained admission into a university that was far from my state of origin, I had to cross two different states before I would get to the state where my school was, meaning I had what we call freedom.
I was free to do anything I want be it good or bad, the choice was left to me. Thank goodness I was able to utilize the privilege very well in doing what is right even without supervision.
The freedom made me discover myself, it made know my ability and disability, my strength and weakness, it made me know my stand exactly.
Although the freedom ruined the life of some people, maybe they've been waiting for that opportunity for a long time, a time where they will be able to do and undo. While in school, I saw some people living a fake life, they live a different life in the school and live another one at home.
Some who are sons and daughters of pastors and evangelist and are well known to be a good child at home turn to be strippers and runs girls in school, and the guys joining bad gangs.
Probably some of them were not been allowed to be free at home, it's always from one cage to another, so they would actually made use of the little freedom they see, and most times such people use it in a very bad way.
Talking about me, I was somehow a free boy right from childhood, my dad is most times not at home, he was not staying with us due to the nature of his job, only come around sometimes, It was Mom that's always with us, so this made me somehow free, not totally free though, because if Mom should report us to dad even without him not around, we know we're in trouble already. So when I got to institution, I experienced another level of freedom. The freedom in school is totally different, no dad or mum to look after you, no family to check maybe you're behaving responsibly or not, it's just you and your character.
Fortunately for me the freedom helped me to build myself and start acting like a man, it was from my school life I had some understanding of life. To some extent I knew what it's to start providing for oneself. It was at that point I understood that it's not easy to be a man.
Why am I saying this? I'm grateful for the kind of parent God gave me, they actually did their best to provide for my needs but then there are times when things were not going on well, I'm not from a rich background, so I had to do some little jobs so as to compliment what my parents were giving me.
During weekends I would go out with some of my friends for a catering job, it's not an easy job at all, it's a full day job, from morning till evening, most times we get back home very late in the night, all in the name of hustling.
It was also in school that I build myself musically, I can't forget those that were of great helped to me, I can't forget them for life. Now music is what I love doing and can't stop doing, because it's part of me, something I was able to build myself on while in school.
The freedom I had back then in school made life so easy for me now, I can now cope anywhere because it had already expose me to so many things.
When I was going for my youth service, I was not bothered, even though where I was posted was still far from home, I knew I'll cope so no cause for alarm. My life as a student was very interesting, I wish I can live it again.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
