Nobody could quite put a finger on the exact date, though everyone knew, there was history. The trouble was finding it, the "moral majority" had long since burned the books, it came from them believing the paradox of left and right, they thought nothing of calling for each other to be silenced. For each others ways to be banned, the burning of all books on either side - and so it was, those in power, they called themselves El-ite, they gladly burnt the books for both sides.
This though did not end the bickering, the constant protests from both sides, neither realising their strings were being pulled from the establishment.
They sought to end the other sides voice, every time they asked, the establishment stepped in and killed some of the protestors, not though until enough of them had killed each other.
George Soros was long since dead, though he had left 18 billion $ to his NGO's at xmas in 2017, so they could continue dividing society up into smaller and smaller groups, each wanting to voice their own concerns, it was going as far as left handed v right handed, blind v able sighted, the name blind was replaced with visually impaired, anyone that uttered the words blind was executed, the left side had called for this, the right had called for them to be called no sighted, on this occasion the left won.
To even things up those in power, the unelected elected allowed the right to call people that were fat "fat" and it felt like a major accomplishment to the right, they were "allowed" a word of their own, what more could one want?
As people had allowed Alexa into their living room in 2017, the government started giving them away for free, Amazon flew them onto every lawn, every apartment roof, no home was left without a free government spy box, they lapped it up, they thought nothing of privacy, it was a myth, something "old people" talked about, hey who are they anyway, they piss their bed and smell bad!
Nobody was allowed to grow food also, and everybody had housing provided for them by the 0.01%, they had to pay 2/3's of any wage they earned towards the housing, nobody was allowed to own their own home, it was against the law that the 0.01% had decided upon, nobody was allowed to travel to another country also, holidays were allowed in monitored camps, this made sure the left went to left camps, the right went to their own camps, they even had separate armies of left and right, both would fight the same fight if it was required, if the country needed more resources, they would both be sent to die together, in the name of the 0.01% that ran the show.
It was also banned, water collecting, people were only allowed to drink tap water, the water contained toxins to make those drinking it docile, they had no idea they were being poisoned by the very water they drank in coffee, tea and fruit juice, they cared not, as long as the other side did not get the better of them, the enemy, the left or right.
Money was outlawed, everyone had a microchip implanted into their right hand if they were right, left if they were left - If they stepped out of line, if they showed any decent credit was terminated and they were left out of society, even their phone when it rang would warn the caller they were contacting a "scab" a "traitor" someone not to be trusted, one of "them" neither left nor right, one of "them" who did not salute the new flag, it looked remarkably like the Nazi flag of 1940!
The new anthem was song first thing in the morning by everyone. People plugged themselves into the receiver in the morning to get the news from Reuters, it was compulsory, there were fines for not getting the daily news in the morning, as everyone needed to be aware of the latest threat, it was normally Russia, though as they had been the enemy for over 70 years since both fought together united as one in ww2, the news was easy to digest.
The new president was a singer, he was a rapper before, the public could identify with him easier than one of the 0.01% and so it was. He liked to keep it real this new president, he did not do tv or news, he simply went on facebook to deliver his messages, no time of day or night was sacred, he would wake up the masses with a rap even at 3 or 4 am, such was his desire.
The internet was allowed, though only if you used it with google, as google search engine was pre approved, it said all the correct things for them, the 0.01%, they could push any narrative they wanted, and that was ok with the 0.01%, the few, the tiny majority stake holders in the entire system. Gone was freedom of expression, unless you had a stake in left or right, those in the middle were shunned, those who had family were especially looked down on, why on earth would anyone want to have children? What is wrong with these people that want the same woman every day? morons the lot of them thought both sides, and so it was that the news also said this, every morning.
Government were stepping in to help those fools in the middle, they were helping by taking the burden off them by removing their children, and giving them a free divorce, the men got a free pass also to a local whore house for 4 weeks, the women got a spa for 4 weeks a year.
