¡Hola, familia Hive!

Hello, Hive family! This is your friend shell975@shell975, and today I woke up wanting to share something special with you. It's the second time I've made a post related to food, but this time I'll share other experiences, the initial experiences I had when cooking hahaha, that thing about rice burning, the first time frying an egg almost throwing it into the pan from way up high and running away from the hot oil that was splattering everywhere, you know, things that sometimes you just have to go through to learn how to cook🥲

Although now it's funny, as a child, one of those times when I was alone with my sister at home because we were already on vacation, my mom took a long time to get home from work. She was supposed to arrive at noon but she didn't get there until around 2 PM. During that time we didn't have a phone to call her and know what to do, we checked and found a stew, but the rice was missing and we still didn't know how to cook, we tried to wait but it got to the point where we looked at each other, went for the stew, and served it to eat it just like that🥲

The nice thing is that neither my sister nor I ate beans, at least not just like that; my mom used to strain the stew for us 😂 that looked like something out of one of those survival shows 😐 and it wasn't like we needed to exaggerate to that point since she was only a little late, but as kids after all, it seemed like a good idea, just in case, or so we thought. When my mom arrived and saw us, the story was really funny hahaha, she finished cooking and we ate together, then my mom started teaching us to cook little by little, starting with rice in case she had to be late from work again😅

I remember that the first time I cooked spaghetti I was alone at home, and I called my mom (that time I did have a phone) to get a head start on the food because she would still take a while to arrive. I already knew how to cook several things by that time, I was a teenager and wasn't so inexperienced in the kitchen, it's just that I hadn't received lessons about pasta 😐🍝...and my mom told me: "it's easy, just start by putting the noodles in water with salt and a little oil so they boil and wait for the point where they're good"...in my defense I had no idea what the good point was🙂

So I followed her steps as I also did for the sauce, although that last part was easier for me, but at the beginning when I looked at the spaghetti I saw it had little water, I added more and then there was too much, and once I was already at the point of despair I tasted it and it needed salt, baff, I thought it would be a disaster, but I took out the pasta, prepared the sauce and waited for my mom to arrive, and what amazed me most of all was her reaction: "This is so good!" I just looked at her like 😳 thinking: "it can't be, if everything turned out all over the place" but when I tasted it, it's true that it was good, it was a miracle xD😂😭

When I thought that would be my last experience like that, something similar happened to me some time later, and it was my first time cooking beans 🥲...but that time again I was alone and I called my mom, one of my aunts and even my grandmother, all with their methods and ways, and well you know that grandmothers have those special tricks and those secret ingredients that of course I won't reveal😌 more than anything because I don't remember them well😂. The thing was, with all the advice, I said to myself "whatever, I'm going to combine the formulas and do it my way" and that's what I did, and miraculously an exquisite dish came out☺️ Then I became more curious about cooking, starting to look for recipes and try things, also make innovations and just enjoy the process of cooking and learn from the result.

And that's all for today. What can you tell me about your experiences when you were learning to cook?...We'll read each other next time and in the comments 😎🫵🏻. Take care and don't forget to smile. God bless you🤍
