This happened again last night. Normally, I scrutinise the group code numbers and make sure they are correct. Last night I meant to type in the code for the Foodies Bee Hive and instead put in the code for the OCD community.
I post primarily via Ecency on my iPad Pro which means I hardly use my PC any more for block-chain related activities and if I don’t put any tags in the post, it goes to the default
Esteem community.
See, what I should have done was just left the post as it was, where it was:
Beef Schnitzel at Beach Hotel here in the OCD community. It’s still a quality post, and it will do no harm there. However, it was intended for an entirely different audience, that of the Foodies Bee Hive community.
My overcorrection was from panicking, waiting the 5 minutes to avoid the anti spam feature, and then reposting with the correct hashtag this resulted in the dreaded double post.
So, which post do I edit? The one with the least upvotes is what I ended up choosing.
I could have just left the double post as it was, but I edited it, for honesty, to tell people to ignore the post and redirect them to the original post. I normally get quite a good upvote from the Foodie Bee Hive community via Foodie tokens and so I messed up big on this one.
I also got a hefty downvote, understandable in this instance as it was seen to be protecting the rewards pool. I am lucky it wasn’t worse.
I am reluctant to post content here at the best of times, and mistakes like this don’t help.
A stressful day, lack of sleep, and late nights do not make for the best posts and
it does pay, literally, to be ever-vigilant before posting content on the block-chain.
Anyway, lesson learned (for now at least).
See you in the next, properly placed post!
