Splinterlands Kickstarter Gear Unboxing!

What a brilliant start to the month! (OK, so I delayed posting this for a bit).
I made it to **Gold I ** in the rankings last season with only 45 minutes to spare!

So excited! Those sweet sweet Loot Chests! There were quite a few Legendary potions and Orbs too.

Then I won one of @clove71’s competitions on Twitter. They are free to join and she loves
Splinterlands! 5000 DEC-a-roonies! Sweeet...

After I’d asked @reseller via discord for an update on whether or not my Splinterlands Kickstarter gear was sent and they gave me the parcel’s tracking code. I then checked the websites of the UPS and Australia Post for what information they could give me, and then got them to email me updates of it’s progress.

Isn’t technology wonderful...?

Last Monday morning, I got the news that I had been waiting 8 months for.
The parcel was waiting at my post office box!

Awesome stuff! Double thumbs up.

There must have been a Shaidon shaped blur where I once stood as I took off towards my local post office as fast as I could!

Upon arrival I was greeted by this bad boy:

What could be inside?
It nearly didn’t fit into my backpack, but a quick adjustment later it was in and I made my way home again, with increasing anticipation.

It opens...

The first thing I see is a thank you message. It was a really nice touch.

First impressions count - A ‘Thank you’ message.

The Cards

The card set is absolutely brilliant, and one of the main reasons I contributed to the second Kickstarter project. Physical versions of the in-game cards which put Magic: The Gathering to shame.
They were pre-packaged in this display case (how very thoughtful!) and then sealed in plastic.

The one Flesh Golem @mattclarke will never own. Don’t worry, I’ll let him look at it on weekends...

Separate from the main card set, there was a card sleeve with 3 cards. Two were promo cards, one of which had a Splinterlands Promo Code and the other was a foil embossed card. It was beautiful!

Foil card

The foil card was notoriously difficult to photograph because it loves to reflect light.
The colours however are amazing.

This is to show you what I mean:

Ooh shiney!

The T-Shirt

Next up was the T-Shirt. It was better quality than I was expecting, and I can see myself wearing it to represent Splinterlands when I am out and about.

And here’s me wearing the shirt, a perfect fit!

Thumbs up!

The Splinterlands Lore Book

This is a beautiful, hardcover book that any Splinterlands fan would love to have in their collection. They really pulled out the stops with this one.
The pages themselves are beautifully layer out, the artwork is incredible and it’s cover to cover with background history and information on everything you need to know about Splinterlands.

Here are some pages at random:

And just for fun...

As you can see, I was absolutely rapt with the Kickstarter goodies and tried to do them justice in this post. They are far better than what I can present here though.

Thank you to @aggroed, @yabapmatt, @reseller, @carrieallen and others who made this possible.

Anyway, I have to get back into finish off this season.
Until next time, see you in the Splinterlands!
